It is what it is. Some of the teams people thought were going to be good due to the names on their jerseys are not as good as predicted. Some of the teams people thought were going to be bad due to to the names on their jerseys are not as bad as predicted.

Why is it a bad day for the league? This is Big East Basketball. I love seeing these lower ranked teams beating up on these upper ranked teams. It's not Seton Halls fault that Georgetown doesn't have their center or ran out of steam in the last 4 minutes. I didn't watch Butler Marquette but I'm assuming Butler played with a sense of urgency and desperately wanted their first win. DePaul is currently playing Villanova tough right now. Nova is expected to be a 18 or 20 point favorite.
I don't know what the other conferences do but I love the fact that you cant just come in to a game and expect the other team to roll over so "we" can send more teams to the tournament. Why are we even setting up these games if we already decided that we want our top 4 to go dancing. You deserve to go to the tournament? Prove it. Why have you guys decided to start that mentality? Is that a carry over from the A-10 or MVC? The year that we sent 11 teams to the tournament was a fun year. Every game was played tough.

Jet you keep equating "more" with "better". But actually, better = better. Having untested, incapable teams make the NCAAT hurts the league enormously when they get upset or underachieve. The year the BE got 11 teams was on the verge of being one of the worst years for the BE image-wise b/c of shotty performances by those teams, until Uconn saved the league's bacon & won it all. Getting bids will not be a problem for the BE if our teams live up to their own standards. The teams you're crooning over aren't living up to their own standards at the moment and in some cases the teams you seem to be discounting are making plays & fighting hard. That's what's best for the league IMO.
