Big East road games are always tough but if you're Creighton you have to feel pretty good about this one. Providence off a double OT game with their complete lack of depth and only 1 day off could loom large down the stretch. It also helps that PC only has a little over a day to prepare for that complex offense. Should be interesting.

Nah, Providence is too far from Pittsburgh. I plan on being at the Creighton games @Georgetown and @Xavier.

I fully expect to LOSE at Creighton, not just cause your ranked, but cause its a new atmosphere with 17000 fans. Providence is not like Nebraska, it's closer to New York. And the best teams have hard time adjusting. People from with Midwest are simply nicer. People from Providence will find out McDermott's sick aunt and call out here name all game until McDermeott get's T'ed up for spitting on them back. Just be ready for that. We are the only game in town and on a winning streak so the fans will be drunk and ready to go!

I wish Creighton luck but you're in for a ride.

Providence fans can be brutal, especially on a Saturday night when the crowd is well greased. However, McDermott is not the type of player who Providence fans have gone after, he is the type of player Providence fans have respected. However, if you come in with an attitude like Omar Cook did years ago (punching Sheiku Kabba in the nuts after John Linehan frustrated him all night), they will let you have it. Some unfortunate incidents at the Dunk. Interestingly, I was at all of the below games. It can vary between a wild place and a boring place, depending on time/day of game and how the Friars are doing:

Mike Jarvis had some comments about the drunk PC fans after the Omar Cook punch:

http://nypost.com/2001/02/14/jarvis-kee ... rs-burnin/

Then we had the "Jonathan Xavier" incident. Apparently when Jim Calhoun was asked, before he knew details, where he'd guess this happened, he answered "Providence, something crazy there always seems to happen":

The Texas player being hit by a bottle. Very unfortunate. I was probably aimed at a ref:

Last but not least, the Dildo tossing incident. Gomes and Emeka Okafor got a laugh out of this as it bounced across the floor:

Most of the Creighton players have played in pretty hostile environments like Koch Arena (home of trailer trash Wichita fans) and Viejas Arena (San Diego State's rowdy "The Show") so not sure "The Dunk" will really affect them. Can't wait to watch though, playing in front of a packed rowdy crowd always makes for fun basketball viewing.
