Marquette visits Hinkle Fieldhouse for the first time since 1991, when both schools were members of the Midwestern Collegiate Conference.

The teams last met in the third nee second round of the NCAA Tournament last year, with Marquette emerging as victors en route to the Elite 8.

Butler has to be feeling desperate to get their first Big East win, but this game is also shaping up to be a must-win for Marquette. A loss to Butler could potentially be backbreaking for their season, as the Warriors have Georgetown (away) and Villanova (home) next week. A loss to Butler could find MU 10-10 (2-5) in 8 days time, with their NCAA at-large hopes pretty much dead and buried. On the other hand, with a win in Indianapolis, is it that crazy to think maybe they pick off one of those big games next week and are back in the hunt?

Glad to have Marquette coming back to town! Hopefully Hinkle Fieldhouse will see a raucous crowd (it's sold out) to welcome the Golden Eagles -er- Warriors.

JaJuan Johnson sprained his ankle during Wednesday's practice, any Marquette fans know if he'll be able to go at least on a limited basis Saturday? Not that it would be a huge blow to them, but still would stink to have a little less depth on the wing.

Butler just needs to focus on playing better. Wins and losses really aren't that important at this point. I expect another close game at Hinkle. Hopefully Butler can pull it out.

I wouldn't say that a win at Georgetown would get them back in the hunt by itself quite frankly. Georgetown themselves could be 12-9(4-5) on Feb 1.

I would say if Marquette can beat Butler and Georgetown- and then after losing to Nova, beat St John's and PC- all of a sudden they are 14-8 and 6-3 in the BE. That would get them back in the thick of things. Even one loss to Butler or Georgtown and they're only 13-9 and still needing 6 wins 2nd half to feel confident entering the BE tourney.

True, but this year's team has had two opportunities, and needed a late DePaul implosion and barely held off Seton Hall to keep the streak going.

Depaul I'll give you. But the Seton Hall game we were never truly in jeopardy remember we were up by like 10-15 most of that game before they went nuts from the 3 in the last couple minutes.
