We lost 4 games by a combined 20 points or an average of 5 points. We could just as easily be 13-3 (2-2). Instead we are 9-7 (0-4). It's like flipping tails 500x. Just not going our way. This team is bad but it's not nearly as bad as its record indicates. One year, just one year I want to see us go undefeated in our OOC schedule and have luck on our side in conference winning the close ones. DePaul sucks. But SJ is snakebitten. That's more powerful. The losing culture continues. Just curious, has anyone ever seen a team with 6 top 100 recruits actually REGRESS so rapidly? This team honestly looked better as freshmen or sophomores. I don't think I've ever said that before about any team. What makes the regression even more confusing is that the new Big East is a shadow of what it was (no offense but true). Even in our bad years we would still be good for upsetting a ranked Notre Dame or Cincy squad once a year. Now we lost almost all our blue blood programs and have the most talented team since our Elite 8 run and we do much worse? The more we lose and have luck against us every game, the more I'm thinking the law of averages is going to carry us to a sweep in the Big East tourney. I kid of course, but hey, why not at this point? The team makes zero sense.

Sorry, this is my last post about the YMCA Johnnies. Just can't believe the discrepancy in early season predictions and the talent on paper compared with actual results. Never been further apart.

How the heck did St. John's give DePaul 17 offensive rebounds???

According to Lavinwood, the refs made it all happen for DePaul.

Easy not to worry about getting calls when your team gets 40 FT's a game…AWAY from home even. The negated call that even the announcers said was dead wrong cost us the game. We lost by 2 and we got 3 points taken away. That is not up for debate. Wrong call made, 3 points erased, lost by 2. It's as much a factor as anything else SJ did wrong.

Can't speak to the prediction, but there are no farms in Omaha.

Oh, and it's "their," heads not "there" heads. ;) Or do you say, "Them there heads" in Ohio?

Don't be dumb we know Omaha is a city and it's not just farms, but there are farms there. A quick trip to google is enough to tell you that there are farms with an address of Omaha, NE.

Give it up Lavinwood. St. John's is underachieving and got beat by arguably the worst program among the supposed high major conferences.

The funny thing is, when people from the country act like they are in some major city, they don't realize it's still rural to New Yorkers. I live 35 miles east of the Queens border on Long Island aka the NYC suburbs. People in Queens think I live in the "boonies" 45 minutes east of them with houses right next to each other, .5 acre property, and backyards just big enough to fit a pool or deck and that's it. Yet to most of the country we are essentially greater NYC. So when the suburbs of NYC are more densely populated and more urban than Omaha, of course we are going to say it's all farm land out there lol. My uncle said it best when he did a cross country drive. He said, "Each coast has major cities and suburbs of major cities with stuff going on…everything in between is just farms".

This second game is a total blowout. I thought Butler would have a little fire up their ass from losing all these close games.

Creighton shoots ridiculously well. One of our biggest weaknesses is defending the 3 pt shot. I'm honestly interested to see how much Creighton can score vs. SJ because they do exactly what SJ can't defend at one of the best rates in the country. Would not be shocked to see a 30 pt loss in their house. The thing that scares me about Creighton though is next season. I think lots of Creighton fans will realize they were spoiled rotten these past 4 years with him on the team. Add Gibbs to that mix. We will see how the recruiting goes. I hope they do well but I'm just scared they will fall off once their studs from all the past 4 yr top 25 teams are gone. Doug will leave a gaping hole there. Enjoy it while you can Jays fans…please don't take this as a knock I'm being genuine. I've learned over the years to never take winning teams for granted. The Knicks were terrible almost my entire life then last season they were actually pretty good and I remember watching every game to take it in, knowing they may suck for another decade right after. Creighton is a very fun team to watch because of how well they shoot, and I definitely think they can do big damage in the tourney.
