Yup - the secret, if you want to call it that, to a good RPI is make your losses occur on the road. Weighed at only .6 as opposed to 1.4 for home games, it doesn't hurt that much. I've been saying for awhile that the best chance to get 4-5 teams in the tourney is for the top teams to win all of their home games and lose to each other on the road.

Hey XU fans. I was at the game last night. After Justin Martin made his first three, he put up 3 fingers to show how awesome he was. I thought it was a little much as it was the first points of the game. ANyway, someone in the stands yelled, "Hey Martin is that you first 3 or what." Which began a back and forth between him and the fans sitting in the lower bowl. Mack must have said something to him at the first time out because the jawing quit after they resumed play. I personally though the back and forth was comical. Its why BBall is so awesome, the fans being so close to the action. Some just kept saying how big of a "punk" Martin was however. So I ask you, is this typical Martin antics or was he just fired up for this game.? Either way, dude was making 3s from everywhere all night. respect.

Are you seriously asking if a kid is a punk for making 3 goggles? Half the players in college basketball are punks then.

Martin looks like he could be a little bit of a punk, and sometimes appears to be a little....out of it. However, you never hear of any off court issues involving Martin, he speaks to the press well, and seems to be a pretty good dude.

No, I'm not saying he is a punk. Like I said, I thought the whole exchange was humorous. I was wondering what the Xaviers fans opinion of Martin is?

Martin is, sadly, typically pretty reserved on the court. He has skill but very rarely gets "pumped" and sometimes seems half-asleep. In his defense, he is an odd-fit in Mack's offense and he has suffered 2 concussions in the past year, so things have not been going great for JMart.

For him to come off as cocky would actually be encouraging to some X fans, myself included.

He's been an enigmatic, underachieving goofball, with a limited attention span, who many had given up on until recently, but not a thug. He has been much more consistent this year, starting with the UC game to the extent that many hope he stays for another year. I think he was enjoying the experience of being in your wonderful arena with your wonderful fans. He was probably entertaining himself as much as your fans.

I got ya. But no, I would not say he's a punk by any means.

Love JMart.

But every player in the NCAA does some sort of "3 goggles" when they make one. So no big deal.
