Great game Creighton. Very special team that is fun to watch. And I love your home environment.

Now, with that offered, I'm very much looking forward to getting you into the Cintas Center.

Creighton is a very, very good team. Can't wait to get them back in Cintas. I know this is beating a dead horse, but man do I love this league, a true round robin is awesome.

Creighton played their A game and Xavier still wouldn't go away. What a great game. Both teams should be ranked.

 And Xavier's "white stiff" has a bloody nose.

Lol I wonder whose fault that was, eh? For the record, I don't think that was a Flagrant 1, just a regular foul, but the elbow to the face that Philmore received on the next possession was a textbook Flagrant 1 and wasn't called (It was very similar to Justin Martin's at the end of the Xavier-Marquette game, for those that saw that). Not that a different call would have changed the outcome of the game. What decided the game was:

1) Xavier going 13-22 (59.1%) from the free throw line, including four missed front ends of 1-and-1s.
2) Wragge naling three straight ridiculous threes. Semaj got a layup in that sequence, but still, a 4-point lead turned into an 11-point lead, and the margin didn't change much for most of the remainder of the game until Xavier's belated comeback.
3) After Wragge's last three at 16:54, Creighton didn't score until 13:46. Xavier only grabbed 4 points during that short drought, which were then negated at the end of it by two straight baskets from Creighton

I'm happy with Xavier for sticking with it and fighting until the end in a really tough game. Creighton is an impressive team, and man can they shoot. Some of their shots are simply unguardable without extending your defense so much that a semi-truck could drive through those open lanes. I'm really looking forward to the return trip!

Sidenote: Those refs were a pain! I don't think they favored either side. I think they just couldn't ever figure out how they wanted to call the game. At some points anything was allowed inside. At other points, any ticky-tack foul would be called. Make up your damn minds!

It will be interesting to see Vilanova's athletic wings try and defend that type of offensive onslaught. Creighton is impossible to defend.

It's been said a million times on here, but I love this league. Great teams almost top to bottom.

Agree the refs were inconsistent on both ends. Hard to get a handle on what was a foul. Great game though. That was a very good Xavier team. They will win a lot of games.

Great game Xavier. I have never been so nervous with a double digit lead that late in a game. You should be proud of your guys - they fought until the bitter end.

Unlike the X fans, I am not at all eager to play X at Cintas.

This has been the case for all four Big East games I've watched with Xavier. What is probably happening is that some of the refs are calling the game by the new rules (like they should, whether you like the new rules or not) while some are stubbornly calling the games by the old rules. So which way it gets called is probably determined by which ref is in the best position to make the call/no-call.

well hopefully, in the NCAA tournament the refs that are calling the games by the new rules get the games, and the stubborn refs get the message.
