Definitely will be a guard-heavy game.

I`m hearing that Sampson is a monster in practice this week. Thought it`s just that, practice.

The two that I`m worried about is Pinkston and Bell. We gotta try and distrupt them and possibly get them into foul trouble. It it to the rim against them.

I'm so sick of hearing Lavin talk about who had a good practice. Ok, Sampson had a good practice…so what? It's practice! He SHOULD be having good ones. Sampson needs to start having good GAMES…then when Lavin says he had a good game it will actually mean something. This is the same coach who said Jordan is the best PG he's ever coached and will be better than Baron Davis, yet he benches him. This is the same coach who said Branch is by far the most improved player and is going to be a monster this year. What does he do? Turns the ball over and rides the bench. Hell, he even talked up our walk-on…he made 1 rim rattling bucket from about 10 ft away and drew a charge and you would think he just put up 24 points the way Lavin spoke about him. Lavin can BS with the best of them…he really is a used car salesman…he can talk his way out of a lot of stupidity if you aren't paying attention.

Did you watch the Red Storm Report on SNY? Brandon Tierney (who I've met a few times…very nice guy) was talking crazy. He said that when Sampson is open in mid range "he doesn't miss". LOL. Wow. Really? Because I feel like he makes 30% of his shots mid range when he's open and maybe 20% when someone's in his face. Sampson has the ugliest shot I've seen…it's almost never clean. He has terrible form and 90% of the time the ball is bouncing around the rim and he's lucky it goes in sometimes. I've never seen so many jumpers rattle around the rim whether he makes the shot or misses. He also said Hooper doesn't miss when he's open which isn't true. Sure he's had a few good games, but I remember plenty of times he was wide open and rushed the shot only to clank off the rim. These players have not earned these praises. They get talked up and maybe it goes to their heads.

It's time to start WINNING especially against real teams like Nova. Nothing else in NY speaks louder than a nice "W". Maybe Lavin's talking kept him at UCLA for 7 years, but New Yorkers want you to cut through the BS and just win already. The team is there…now win. Or get out.

Nova gets a foul called 90% of the time they are on offense…I know part of it is just them doing a good job by penetrating, but my god I've never seen a team get a call almost every single time. SJ should know by now that giving the ball to Obekpa on offense is like putting a toddler on the front lines in the Marines. He can't get the job done ever on offense. He's there to block and rebound…that's it. Greene and Harrison don't have good looking shots. If we have any chance we better get in the paint. Not sure why we don't have Jordan or Harrison driving every time unless someone is WIDE open from 3.

Lol…another foul…is one of the refs a Nova kid's father or something? I've seen 2 or 3 Nova pushoffs…either call everything on both sides or don't call it at all. How many points does Nova get off fouls each game 40?

Nova elbowing and kicking…wonder if we get a flagrant? Can't let them get away with that stuff…

Update: No flagrant…are you kidding? He got elbowed in the face and kneed in the chest…wtf?

THESE REFS ARE ON NOVA! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

In all seriousness they have traveled like 2 or 3 times and also elbowed our best player and knee'd him without ANY calls! Then we get a tick tack on Arc. I think I know part of how Nova is #8 right now. Starting to make sense.

Jordan SLAMMA JAMMA!

Can we buy a foul? We will pay the refs $100 pretty please? Can we just get a call when they bump our shooters?

TWO LAYUPS MISSED in 30 secs…and now a foul on Arc LMFAO! If you are watching the game and you don't see the clear bias you must be brain dead. Unreal. We need this game to save our season and the refs are in bed with Nova. I should have known this would happen though. If you have refs who don't sleep with Nova, they are very beatable. That's what makes it so frustrating. As I type this another call for Nova. Man it must be a dream being a Nova fan.

Never seen so many shots go in and out…ANOTHER NOVA TRAVEL NOT CALLED WTF!

Nova fans please just admit it…even the announcers are saying "My goodness" at the BS calls. Don't get me wrong, we missed like 6 layups so far…we should be cruising against Nova…but some of those layups had Nova players bumping them without getting called. The zebras need to stop changing this game. Call a travel…it's okay. It's your job. They are like 1-5 in travel calls vs. Nova.

Give it a rest. Other than the blatant traveling call on Pinkston in front of the SJU bench, I don't think the refs have missed much. SJU playing the best they've played all season in the few games I've seen. Enjoy it instead of whining about the refs.

SJU played excellent defense in the 1st half, but missed a ton of bunnies themselves. They really should be up by more and I think that could come back to bite them. Over the Seton Hall @ Marquette- SHU debuting a base black uniform. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

SJ did miss like 5 or 6 bunnies around the rim but at least 1 or 2 I noticed the player was bumped into but no call, so they just missed it and Nova got the rebound. Maddening to watch. Nova seems to be allowed to walk from end to end with no calls. Nearly 20 FT's vs 9 Nova/SJ in the first half…Nova is on par to shoot 40 FT's. This is how Nova is 1st in the conference. Give SJ 40 FT's and we'd probably be ranked including a win over #2 Cuse by now. We will lose this game by less than 10 and the reason will be the missed layups.

By the way the ref bias is not just from me…the announcers said "My goodness…they missed an obvious call". Not really arguable that refs are helping Nova.

Good game Nova, but we can't compete with the other team getting twice as many trips to the line some of them on BS calls and some legitimate. Another close loss to a top 10 team. But still a loss. We are way past the point of moral victories or meaningful losses. That's it. SJ is in the coffin and getting buried. This current crop of players can't leave fast enough. I want to see what our next recruiting class can do and if they suck as well, then Lavin gets fired so I can't wait. Can't wait to see how Lavin acts like 9-6 and 0-3 on the year are good marks that still give us hope. Nova is playing terrible today and we can't shoot well to put them away. At least I don't have to watch this team for the rest of the year knowing we aren't going anywhere. Good luck to the rest of the Big East. Nova is beatable if the refs don't have itchy whistles.
