We want the board to be enjoyable for everyone but we are going to start employing some additional moderation to help reduce the noise here.

The mods here are much better than other SJ forums like JohnnyJungle and Redmen.com. On those sites many of the guys know each other in real life down to what their kids are up to...it's very creepy actually. They will tell you not to insult others, only to insult you 5 minutes later. It's funny to me that grown men feel the need to power abuse on a small college basketball forum. Some of them even go as far as to ban those who are honest and not BSing through their teeth. A true forum accepts all points of view as long as they are not intentionally demeaning, insulting, or of the trolling variety. Really enjoying this forum...lots of great posters and great mods to share Big East pride with.

Was there any consideration of moving the Georgetown-Butler game so it didn't compete locally with the Colts-Patriots game? If they could've flipped with Nova-StJ, both would have stayed on the same network and prevented what will likely be a half-full Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday.

Huge game for the Bulldogs. No way to recover from an 0-4 start, even in the Horizon League. Unfortunately, the Dawgs go head to head against the Colts. So those watching the basketball game will hear strangely timed cheers from the crowd as the Colts score. Once again FS1 will be the loser going against the NFL. Changing game time for the Dawgs would have been no big deal, and there are plenty of examples of that being done by ESPN, NBC and CBS. They had a week to pull the trigger, but didn't. Not very impressed with our benefactors.

Just read in the Star where Georgetown's 6'10" Center, Joshua Smith, didn't come to Indy. He stayed home 'cleaning up an academic issue'.

If I remember correctly, we played Jakarr Sampson pretty well last year. I'm looking forward to seeing what Rysheed Jordan can do, as when the game was out of hand against Georgetown he took it to the tin a few times that I know he's capable of. Definitely will be a guard-heavy game.

This is like a repeat of last year when Whittington stopped playing for Georgetown around the 3rd conference game due to academic reasons. I wonder if Josh Smith is done for the year too.

I`m hearing that Sampson is a monster in practice this week. Thought it`s just that, practice.

The two that I`m worried about is Pinkston and Bell. We gotta try and distrupt them and possibly get them into foul trouble. It it to the rim against them.

~300 tickets left for Butler/Georgetown. Will be a sellout with walk-ups.

The opening spreads/lines for today:
'Nova a 4.5 pt. fave at the Johnnies
Seton Hall a 10.5 pt. underdog at MU
Butler a 1.5 pt. fave to get their first Conf. Win at home vs. a Smithless Hoya team

A good day of BEast hoops!
SO pumped to be a member of the new Big East!
