Yeah but Kansas is not who they are necessarily competing against. Kansas is getting kids from all over the country. And they are landing the top blue chippers. I don't think this is now, or should be ever, CU's recruiting strategy. They should try to be like, Nova, XU, Marq. and Butler. Find kids that are Top 50-150 who fit the Creighton style and develop them over 4 years. Get 2-3 good to very good players every year and stay away from the one and dones. Don't compete with Kansas, compete with Iowa, Iowa St., Kansas St., SLU, Wisconsin, Minn, CO, Okl., etc.

Long-term its why Creighton will almost certainly be a bottom half program in the league. Its a problem that's not going away. Nebraska is always going to be Nebraska.

I disagree. In fact I think Creighton might offer something unique in the Midwestern area that can't be found elsewhere. Want to play high level league hoops in the Midwest at a strong school that is basketball first? Creighton becomes an ideal location. Plus this is basketball not football, so they need like 3 recruits a year not 25.

We like Nebraska
I guess we'll find out. We are used to recruiting regionally because Omaha metro isn't big enough to supply talent. We do have some things to sell at Creighton.
If you draw a 500 mile circle around Omaha you hit several major metros. KC, St Louis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Denver, Minneapols-St Paul, OKC. 500 miles is easily driveable for college students and parents.
We have recruiting ties to TX and now to the East Coast with our assistant coaches.
Like others said, we don't have to beat kansas....we need to challenge Minnesota, Wisconsin, Mizzou, KState, CO, Iowa, IA st, Okie St, OK.
17,000 fans in an NBA arena in a basketball centric league shouldn't hurt.
Gonzaga is always going to be at an extreme disadvantage as it relates to the rest of the league because of access (or lack thereof) of talent in their area. Long-term its why Gonzaga will almost certainly be a bottom half program in the league. Its a problem that's not going away. Spokane, Washington is always going to be Spokane, Washington.
