I've always been a big college bball fan, but this year I am more excited than ever! It's funny since this is not the best team that X has ever had. I just really excited to be playing big time teams day in and day out during confernce play! Can't wait till the next game!

As a Creighton fan I echo your sentiment... I have never in my life been so excited for Creighton basketball, and to play the likes of Seton Hall, Marquette, Villanova, Georgetown, St. John's, etc, etc, etc twice a week has my interest sky high. This definitely looks like the year Creighton has to make a run at the top, as the next couple years will most likely be a couple down years compared to the last two or three. My dream was to become a Creighton season ticket holder, and with CU joining the Big East, it sealed my fate as this was the year I finally jumped in. To have Marquette come to Omaha on New Year's Eve was incredible, but now I look at a hot Xavier team (always have had a ton of respect for X) coming into the Century Link Center on Sunday, you can't beat that. Follow that with Butler, Georgetown, Villanova and the rest of the BE coming in the rest of the season and its going to be a heck of a ride!

Good luck to X on Sunday, should be a great game (with the good guys/Jays coming out on top of course).

It's wonderful to have a program like Xavier in the league. The first season in the big time is a memorable one.

My senior year at Marquette was their first year in the Big East. At the opener, my friends and I just had our jaws on the floor that UConn....Jim Calhoun....the #2 team in the country were on the same Bradley Center floor as our classmates. Remember, the previous season Marquette had lost to UAB and TCU (twice), before fizzling out in the first round of the NIT.

Then Steve Novak WENT OFF on the Huskies, and Marquette ran them off the floor. Two weeks later MU beat Notre Dame on a buzzer-beater that 8 years later is still the loudest I've ever heard the Bradley Center. The campaign reached its climax with Thursday-Saturday games vs. Pittsburgh and Georgetown in late February, who if I recall, were both ranked at the time, and MU had to win both of them to consider themselves safe for the tournament. They did. I'll never forget that first Big East season.

I have always had a ton of respect as a Creighton\college basketball fan for Xavier and their basketball program. I can sense that Xavier fans are much like Creighton fans and are so happy to be in the BE and see a very bright future - which could be helped by what looks like potentially good first seasons. I have been looking forward to this Sunday's game since the schedule came out. In the past I was always hoping when the regular season schedule would come out for the next season, I would see a potential game vs. Xavier. Finally that happens Sunday, and I can say the same for pretty much every other Big East team. This season has been great so far, and its going to get better with each game win or lose!

Friarfan2, not sure if that was directed at me since I am a new poster. Longtime lurker here and Creighton fan/season ticket holder... I've been reading through a lot of the posts and felt that it was time to join in the fray . Loving Creighton being a part of the Big East, and this has definitely been the most anticipated and most exciting year to be a Jays fan (so glad the Jays are finally "home" in a solid conference).

And mostly because of bad past experiences, there are quite a few "online/message board" Wichita State trolls that are really annoying, but generally from the fans I have met face to face - they are a decent bunch.
