Definitely could be a wedge. My understanding is that Cooley is not happy with how the administration handled it. Word is Cooley and the AD are both unhappy with the administration. And Cooley is a guy who has not been afraid to suspend players on his own (suspended Batts for first half of a season, sat Council vs. Syracuse, etc.).

damn, that's a shame. Cooley seems like a great fit quite frankly. Good charisma and obviously looking at the results a great recruiter. Really seems like could be major issues there.

They've got some decent players but don't seem to have much intensity. They look like a beaten down team 2 games into the conf season. Still think they'll win 6-7 conf games and finish 7th-8th.

Yeah, seems like they are still demoralized from losing at home to Seton Hall.

They are demoralized and beaten down from having one decent option off the bench.

I just switched over from watching my Niners win a close one. This game is a total mismatch.

Just recruit the right type of players, ie players who don't get in trouble (Austin) or players who can get eligible (Ledo).

The injuries hurt more. I would really like to know what these 2 did. At least that way it would be easier to accept (or find fault with) the administrations decision

Pinkston is a first team all big east candidate.

I don't know who is better for nova, bell or pinkston.

I think SJ and PC are both cursed programs. SJ has done more than PC recently, but both teams had golden eras that seem like they were before the Civil War. Both teams have brought in highly rated recruits to match anyone in the nation except maybe Kentucky, Kansas, Duke, etc. yet have gotten zero results. I wonder if Cooley is Lavin 2.0? Recruits well but can't coach? I think PC's issue is more with terrible injuries at terrible times and recruits never seeing the floor for whatever issue it is. Ledo, Dunn, Austin. Can you imagine if you had Brooks with Ledo, Dunn, Austin, Cotton, Fortune, and Batts?

Oh well, I'm sure PC fans feel the same way as me. In the new Big East I was really hoping the new watered-down conference would put SJ in a great spot to hang with the Nova's and G'Town's and establish themselves as elite. I was wrong. How the hell did SJ do better in the hardest conference ever, only to struggle when most of the blue blood programs were removed except Nova and G'Town? It makes no sense. We went on our only major run in 2011 with a bunch of no name kids. Then we get the #3 class in the nation and we don't even look like we can be competitive in the much diminished new Big East. Wtf?

PC and SJU he the same curse:
They each hung onto coaches when it was clear they were incompetent. Really hurt them in the 2000's

And you ant bank on a good recruiting class as the answer. You need a good system, good upper classmen leadership, and a winning mentality. You need that good recruiting class to become upper classmen, and develop. It is rare for a good recruiting to just come in and turn it all around.

That's why I think seton hall is still going to stink next year.

The best example of a top 5 recruiting class at one of these schools turning it around is villanova in 2002. But they didn't make the tournament until those guys were juniors.
