I already posted this in the other thread, but butler is fine and the jonnies haven't imploded yet. Neither has lost a game they should have won at this point. Both are holding true to the chalk.

you are counting on Butler beating either Creighton or Nova. That's likely not going to happen(especially Nova, who they lost to at home already). St John's imploded- did you watch the 1st half today. They just aren't that good.

I am not "counting" on butler beating creighton or nova.

Like I said in the other thread, I can see butler winning 11 games (and you think only 10 might be necessary):
Nova (1), creighton (2) - go 1-2
Gtown (2), xavier (1) - go 2-1 (win the home games)
Marquette (2), johnnies (2), - go 3-1
Pc (2), shu (2), depaul (2) - go 5-1

Yes, I have them beating either nova or creighton once, but I also have them dropping a game to a bottom 3 team. Also, I have them at 11 wins, and you think they may only need 10. So I don't think this is all too crazy. I don't think it will play out exactly like that, but I see some sort of combination of this scenario and I can see butler reaching 10 or 11 wins.

St John's is still alive, but they are in trouble. I am actually putting them in the "root against" category when they play the 5 other tournament contenders.

I just don't think Butler is good enough to beat Georgetown, Xavier, then 3 of 4 from Marquette/St John's. They haven't beaten anyone that is good this year at all. Princeton, Vandy, or Purdue their best win.

I guess we will see. I think they have looked pretty good from what I have seen. They looked very solid against nova, they looked very solid today. Both games they were underdogs, so the results don't bother me. I thought they played well and am optimistic on their ability.

If they can manage those wins, we can get 5 bids. If not, looks like a four bid league (as I don't think st johns or marquette are very likely).

Maybe st johns or marquette would pick up the slack if butler falters, but I don't see it.

4 bids has been what I've thought all along....

Xavier will be interesting. next week- Marquette, @ Creighton, followed by Georgetown. huge 3 game stretch for them . Marquette is going to put it together at some point.

I think Butler is the best option for #5 but they squandered their best chance at a marquee win in Villanova. I don't think St. John's has enough meat on their OOC. Marquette is really far behind.

I think 4 bids is the more likely outcome. But I don't dislike butler's position right now. It would have been better if they beat nova.
