As an outsider it would have been a serious injustice had PC won that game. I am not one to point to calls being all that influential in the outcome of games. And in this case they weren't, but there is a very good chance had some obvious calls been made, the game would have been over earlier. For the most part, each fan base thinks their team is getting jobbed by the refs. But SHU's case I would not fault them for thinking that way from what I saw.

Thanks Gumby. You weren't the only one to see that! The thing that really upset me though is that our guys who are still on the mend were opened up to more injuries that were totally unnecessary. For example, the mugging of Fuquan Edwin where not only was the obvious foul not called be he could have gotten seriously re-injured on the play. Gotta wonder what the hell those ref were thinking and if they were hoping something like that would happen.

That was hardly a "mugging" on Edwin. It was definitely a foul, but absolutely not a mugging. The defender moved and they banged knees. It was a foul. Nothing flagrant or agressive about it.

It was a standard basketball foul and the refs calling it tighter, or better, will not prevent that type of position contact.

I agree. Some really bad calls made against SHU down the stretch. PC has rarely received this type of special treatment (especially in the old BE when playing UConn, 'Cuse, L'Ville, etc.). I was shocked.

Question for the PC fans here and I am being totally serious and not trying to start any trouble. I am just curious as I heard this happened but can't believe its actually true. Did PC send out an e-mail saying that you guys won the game in 3 OT's? Sounds kinda weird but on the scout site I got the impression that it was true.

Yeah, that's true. Every few minutes I have my son look at my Droid and tell me the score. Eventually he said final score Seton Hall 81-80, and I just put my droid in my pocket. 20 minutes or so later I got an email saying Friars win in 3OT. Harsh brother!

I received that email as well. What a joke. I also just received an email from the PC AD apologizing for that mistake!

Yes, those kinds of things do happen but our guys are already banged up and having an injury potentially re-aggravated because of poor officiating doesn't sit too well. I didn't mean to imply the foul was flagrant or intentional; it's basketball, it's a contact sport, it happens.
