1. Nova and CU are the class of the league.
2. Butler is better than expected; as a Nova fan, I am VERY impressed by the work ethic of BU.
4. Gtwn is a bubble team.
3. SHU and DePaul are gonna cause headaches. Both have talent.
4. Marq is in some trouble.
5.X U, CU & BU are great adds. Love these programs.
6. Gonna be a GREAT year.

Good first day my BE brethren.
Go Nova!

Agree with those early takeaways. Also want to add that the atmospheres at the three new venues looked fantastic on TV.

Agree on pretty much all points made. My biggest takeaway is that the Big East needs to do a NYE marathon every year.

Imagine next year when each game will likely have 1, and a few should have 2, top 25 recruiting classes debuting in-conference as well!

The big difference starting next year- there would be 3 of the 6 top football games on ESPN going up against it. Don't know if Fox wants to bury us against that. I think they may do it again- just maybe on the 30th where they don't have the competition.

Agree with all points already made. Cintas was rocking for St. John's then caught most of the other four games on Fox Sports1. Two exciting overtime games and a very impressive Creighton team. Just a couple of addtional thoughts here. Any reaction to the two female announcers for the Seton Hall/Providence game? I thought they were enthusiastic and did a nice job. Also to be fair, not sure if it was by plan or by accident but I thought it was nice the three new teams got to open league play at home. I certainly echo the sentiment of using this same format next season on New Year's Eve.
Happy New Year to all of my new Big East friends!!

My wife commented on two female announcers. It was unique but didn't bother me. I'd guess with crews all over the country doing games and football too plus the Big East having 5 games yesterday meant certain crews weren't available. All in all, a great day for the league.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

I agree with every thing except point one. Nova and Criegton are probably the class of the league but its too early to tell. Plus Butler played Nova well, so I wouldn't be surprised if Butler rises to the top by the end of the year.

Yeah I agree with 2, 3, 5, and 6. I think it's too early to see about 1 and the two #4s.
