Actually you're making the point that I was trying to. Your original comment was that beating SHU w/out Teague was inexcusable, while I was saying that w/Ayuda back it actually is a better scenario than we have had with other injuries this year. When Ayuda was out for about a month Teague's loss would have been even more similar although not equivalent.

That wasn't my comment, but I understand your point.

Marquette and georgetown disappointed, creighton fell out of the rankings. At this point, if seton hall wins it makes the league look bad. It doesn't make seton hall look good.

And you can thanl kevin willard and mercer and fdu and st peters for that.

Do you ever shut up? Seriously, think before you speak. Seton Hall does have talent and does have the ability to surprise and even make the post season. Think is, when was the last time we had our entire roster available?

I realize you are upset that despite their best efforts even the refs couldn't help PC win. Get over it and get over yourself. The Big East needs Seton Hall and St. John's to both be successful. What PC does is not quite as important to the overall success and perception of the league.

You can't trash Providence and then say Seton Hall is someone that 'needs' to do well for the sake of the conference. That's overstating your importance if you ask me.

Villanova, MU, GTown, and StJohns are the teams that resonate. The three new teams each have their own things going for them but have no BE identity, so judging them would be premature.

The other three are, well, much less visible than the first four. I'm sorry but that's the way I see it.

Look, nobody dislikes seton hall. People are pissed at seton hall because of what they have done to themselves. They are the ones that lost to mercer, st peters, and fdu. They chose to lose those games. They put themselves in the position to be looked at with dissdain for crushing the conference's rpi.

Other teams losing should not be a "hahaha, you suck as bad as we do" moment for seton hall fans.

We all want this conference to maximize bids. At this point, there are 3 teams that are out of an at large bid hope. Seton hall, depaul, and now providence. We need to all root against all three of these teams now.

What do you expect SHU to do? Lie down and let PC win? If fixed results are what you want (actually, it sure did look like what the refs wanted yesterday), then go watch WWE. This is a real sport.

Now, claiming the PC's tourney chances are shot because of 1 loss is a ridiculous overreaction. Even SHU's tourney chances aren't completely shot (especially if the selection committee really does take injuries into account...could make the bad losses slightly more forgivable). The bottom line is if this loss holds PC out of the tournament, then they weren't tournament worthy to begin with.

Seton Hall has every right that Providence does to try to earn an NCAA Tournament bid. This result doesn't "hurt the league."

I'm not going to apologize for Seton Hall beating Providence. I'm also going to root like hell for Seton Hall to beat Creighton on Saturday. And if they do, I won't be apologizing for that either. Go Pirates!

Big Gene should be back for that game Saturday too. Also seems like no issues for Fuquan so I'm looking for a bounce back game from him.

Friarfan2, because of his general disdain for all things SHU, will not be happy no matter what Seton Hall does. He would love nothing more than for SHU to become one of the dregs of the conference, always losing to PC so he can continue to bitch about them and hope that others will follow his lead. This guy is ncaaball from the Villanova rivals board. He isn't a Nova fan or a PC fan. He just wants to start trouble.

I hope this game was a turning point for SHU. Once we get Gene back, which surprisingly sounds like it will be sooner rather than later, and everyone is healthy again I think we can be one of the surprise teams in this league. We have plenty of time to do some real damage!

True, but last year they got Council and Dunn back heading into BE play. This year they have no PG.

PC certainly has a shot at making the NIT, but that doesn't really interest me anymore.

I think you guys should hold out Teague one more game just to be safe. No need to risk reinjury. ;)
