It's a B1G win for DePaul!

That's true, it was just a reaction to the way DePaul nearly threw it away at the end. Great win over a B1G team DePaul!
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Or maybe they still are. :D

As much ragging on DePaul and SHU that we've had this week, maybe we should keep in mind that even the mighty Big 10 has two cellar dwellars that totally suck, probably worse than the two we've spent flogging for ages now on this board.

And they are adding another in Rutgers next season...

So true. Northwestern isn't quite on that level of bad, but Rutgers, Houston, TCU, Mississippi State, and Auburn are in competition to see who is the worst major conference team in basketball. At least Houston and TCU have the excuse that they very recently weren't in a major conference.

I'm beginning to believe Willard has a injury hex. His first year Jeremy Hazell fractures his hand and gets shot will home in Harlem on Xmas break. The next year Herb Pope's heart stops in Walsh Gym after summer practice but was saved by a defibrillator after which he was in a coma before having heart surgery and returning to the team weaker than before. Last year was a disaster and this year is better but injuries still cost us games.

It's the Willard family curse. Go see his old Nan's tenure at Pitt. Injuries ruined him there and he was one of the best coaches around at that time.

This hex/curse effects those around him tho. Willard must be a carrier but personally immune to it.

Looks like SH has gotten all of their guys back and may be starting to get their act together. DePaul has a long way to go and will probably need a young up and coming coach (Brandon Miller type) to get their program turned around.

I agree, I think Purnell needs to go, unfortunate part is they will probably lose Garrett if Purnell gets fired since his dad is an assistant. They need to clean house though. As for Northwestern, I think they are actually worse than Nebraska. They might not win more then 3 B1G games all year.

I disagree. Purnell is getting them there but it takes lots and lots of time when you have been as low as DePaul has been. Jet, these guys used to be a lot WORSE! I know it's hard to believe but it's true. They weren't even in any Big East games before he got there. If they won a single BE game it was a huge deal. Last year they won two and took three other games to OT. They could have easily won 5 conference games last year. They are making progress. A young coach could have his confidence diminish with the amount of losing that is going to come with the DePaul job. Purnell has rebuilt programs in the past. He can take the loses. I don't think he's the guy who will get them to the Final Four, but he is the man they need to rebuild the foundation and get them back to respectability. The administration knows this too. This is a looooong sighted process and the school knows that. Just watch, once that new arena is built DePaul will be a middle of the pack Big East team fighting for a NCAA birth.
