What do you mean read. I saw a video. But whatever I agree Katz was more complimentary of the 3 new members than I've ever heard any non-BE or FOX paid analyst. He gave love to X for beating Cincy & Alabama...X gets less love here at HLOH for those wins than Katz gave them. We need more of this fair stuff in the press.

I doubt that this is true. Katz's father has been on the Boston College faculty for almost 40 years. He grew around the BC program and attended their coaches' basketball camps as a kid. Although he went to Wisconsin, I doubt that he harbors any animosity against the bb only Catholic schools.

This is about as far from the truth as you can get. I'm not a huge Katz fan but he's about as good as it gets for someone who covers Division 1 Basketball like it should be covered: everyone in one division, regardless of their football conference affiliation. I'm more anti ESPN now, pretty much thrilled with leaving the tube on FS1. Raf is SICK, and although Austin Crochere isn't exactly Gottlieb personality wise, he's actually more watchable than Doug or Bilas or Vitale or any of them. I'd like to see Katz defect to FS1 and cover the Big East along with Joe Lunardi.

Man, I couldn't possible disagree more. I've always found Katz to welcoming to mid majors and majors, private schools and public schools, etc. When we were in the Missouri Valley, there were several times that I heard Katz say positive things about Creighton.

If Katz is a homer of anything, it is good basketball teams. He does routinely ignore teams that don't compete for titles or post season play.

The same guy who lists buzz williams, jay wright or jtiii for every bcs state school job that opens up even if that school has no tradition, fan base, and will pay their next hire half of what those guys make?

Anyone who says katz shows fair treatment to the catholic schools has not been paying attention. He is a big 10/espn homer who pushes an agenda.
