Creighton is the only Big East team in the "Others Receiving Votes" list. Long way to go for my Dawgs or Providence to get in.

Not really, Butler has no bad losses, if they beat Villanova who is a top 10 team, they will open alot of eyes and get alot of votes immediately. Providence has a longer ways to go but if they win @UMASS, they will definitely be getting votes.

Yep true. If Butler beats Villanova I think they'll be ranked. Especially if Nova bests Syracuse

SJU lost to two top4 teams (Wisc, was down 18 before making it a 4pnt game, then the back tp back threes by them that sealed it.
Then Syracuse, up 2pnts with the ball but choked that away.), and that damn PSU game which I wish we could have back.

Since the 2nd half of the GT game we have been playing real good ball and I think we`ll keep improving.

I`m not gonna worry about the ooc games. Just looking ahead.

Hey Villanovs, continue to own those POS from upstate ny. I`ll be watching.

Butler is significantly closer to being ranked than SJU. That Penn State leaves a really sour taste in the voters' mouths.

FWIW, here's how I'd rank them at this point:

1. Villanova
2. Creighton
3. Georgetown
4. Marquette
5. Xavier
6. St. John's
7. Butler
8. Providence
9. Seton Hall
10. DePaul

You've got Marquette WAY too high and Butler/Providence way too low.

Nope, went to Pomona College and follow Butler in basketball. I just think academic snobbery in undergraduate athletic conferences is a bad idea. It has hurt the Big 10 and it will hurt the Big East. Last I checked at one point Harvard Yale was a big game.

ESPN's BPI loves (ironically) the Big East, with the notable exception of Georgetown as compared to similar models.

#4 - #7 are all very close and are pretty much interchangeable. So, I have no problem if you want to drop Marquette or boost Butler. I'm a Providence fan and I would love to rank them higher, which I did in the preseason. But they haven't played anyone yet except for Kentucky and Maryland and they lost to both of them. Add to that the fact that they have lost one of their projected starters and their 2 top recruits, which has to be factored in as well, and they don't project very high at this point. If they beat UMass this weekend, things will change.
