Since Nova plays Syracuse soon and St. John's just played them, I've been checking out the Cuse board recently. Wow, the thread on this subject over there is astounding in it's level of arrogance. MSG is just chomping it the bit to get rid of the BE, in 2 years the BE will be lucky to be playing in front of 10,000 in their championship game. The ACC's only concern for grabbing MSG long term is the B1G, it's only a matter of time before the BE can't met MSG contractual requirements and is shown the door, yada, yada, yada. It's comical.

Not sure who this Syracuse team. Are you talking about that irrelevant school, stuck way up in the boonies of central upstate, NY, closer to Hamilton, Ontario than it is to New York City?

In the not to distant future cuse will be better known for producing great play-by-play callers than great play makers...Mounties.

The X factor in all of this is of course, will there even be a Madison Square Garden (at least as we know it) when the Big East's contract runs out? Remember, they've only got 10 years left guaranteed, and the city appears to be chomping at the bit to knock it down and rebuild Penn Station.

That was Christie Quinn and some will say that was a big part of the reason she lost the mayoral election. There is no guarantee that MSG moves, it's just that their lease is for the next ten years and not just an endless lease. The issue with tearing it down, is that committee would have to find a spot for the new MSG to go. Not a single electable person would dare to try and knockdown MSG without having a suitable spot and plan in place to rebuild it. You tell New Yorkers that the Knicks and Rangers will be homeless or playing in Jersey and see how fast those folks are run out of office and possibly run out of town. I think MSG stays or at least stays until the new MSG can have a suitable place found and construction basically completed before they tear down the current Garden.

The demise of the Garden has been greatly exaggerated.
