Yeah.....This is sort of why I don't think everyone is actually entitled an opinion. All opinions are not equal.

The formal progression of BE expansion threads is as follows...

1. Name the "4" usually by mentioning SLU as a "lock" for 11 and its up to D, V, or R for 12.
2. Argument for VCU re private re public.
3. someone goes meh... Slu does nothing for me
4. enter Gonzaga (occasionally followed by a few other WCC teams)... someone will then eventually look at the map for distance
5. comments made that the BE will remain forever at 10
6. 100% support for UConn (quickly discounted as fantasy)followed often by other FBS schools with similar discounts
7. ND
8. now we go to truly irrelevant programs such as Duquesne and Detroit (for some god awful reason someone in this thread said loyola)
9. The topic of expansion will be tabled until after the end of the season. or... drum roll please....
10. Another BE AD makes a comment about expansion or people get bored and start a new thread then repeat at step 1.

anyways i've been gone for a while so from your favorite fan of meh university... Merry Christmas.

I've had a couple discussions with Edrick on other boards.

While he may be blunt, I think he's right. If the Big East needed/wanted 12 teams, they would have had 12 teams.

Good luck to all the Big East teams (even Butler :) ) .

If worse came to worse, we could always raid the GLVC. :)

He lost me at Loyola, if we are doubling up on schools lets pick up either GW or Catholic for D.C. and Fordham or St. Petes for the NYC area.

there were lots of Fox rea$on$ apparently not to expand. whether they do or not i could state many reason why they should/will expand and I'd be lying if i said i couldn't state many reasons why the shouldn't/won't expand. That said my comment was not to discus whether or not the BE should or shouldn't expand... i was just laughing at the natural progression of every expansion thread on every BE/A10 related message board for the past year. There has been 0 new input in the expansion but i guess expansion or not until the BE hits 12 it will be a constant rumor thread.

I think a factor may actually be the Big 12. If they go 12, every major conference would have at least 12 teams. Part of that is the ease to get more teams in the tourney. I mean, look at Lunardi's bracketology today. He's got 6 SEC teams in. Why? Because they have 14 teams- that's the only reason.

If the Big 12 goes to 12 teams, rest assured it will have nothing to do with getting teams into the NCAA tourney. Like with almost all realignment, the decision will be 100% football based.

right and I agree. But the side effect would be basketball- all of the top conferences having at least 12 teams. The tourney aspect of things would be huge as well..
