Few things-
1- as PC has shown us- recruits can go up in smokes quickly.
2- All the schools you mentioned started recruiting those players before the split happened. Next years class will be the 1st one where the split has taken place and the full impact will be known.

1-Would you rather not have elite recruits?
2-Anyone being recruited for 2015 & likely 2016 has been recruited for at least two years too. Remember 2014, 2015, etc recruits play on the same AAU teams or go to the same schools. When coaches are recruiting they make the most of their limited recruiting time.

I think the one thing that would make things very interesting is if the NBA did something with their age rule- like make it where you could go straight to the NBA, but if you go to college you have to stay for 2 years. Would totally change a school like a Kentucky.

That's just not accurate about the state of cbb recruiting. Some recruits for 2017 are getting OFFERS now. To get an offer means the recruiting/scouting likely started even earlier.

Well then Hall, if you're saying that, you then can't claim that this year's class is indicative of how recruits view the new Big East. My point is that this years classes- a majority of that work was done pre-split. Next year- a majority will have been done post-split. If we get the same type classes or better- that's the best news possible for the NBE- much better news even than this years classes quite frankly.

Good ole Stever being a pessimist again, the majority of those recruits committed AFTER they knew the split was still happening and still committed. Not sure your argument holds up, maybe just maybe these kids want to play in an elite basketball conference in big cities where BASKETBALL is KING.

Again for what specific BE schools. Only a handful teams expect to get back to back top 25 classes. Most teams don't need it, schools like UK do because of turnover. But bringing in to much youth year over year is not a formula for success for most programs. SJU brought in a top five class, but it was 9 strong (RU had a huge top 15 class that year too), unless those are McD AA then it's too much youth at one time. This year about 6 teams recruited at top 25 level. Now it's time to develop those classes not necessarily add more youth. The 2014 class by itself has set a strong foundation for the next 2-3 years for the league (not many 1&doner's).

I think you're a little off on this team like Georgetown, Villanova, Duke, UNC, Florida, UCLA, etc land top 25 classes at least every other year for the most part. You're right you don't need a top 25 team every year, but It can't be a once every 4 years thing either.

so 6/9 classes in the top 25 for Georgetown 4/9 for Nova. You need to be in the top 25 pretty much every other year to keep up.

Xavier has also had 4 top 25 teams during that stretch, Marquette has 4, Providence 2, St. John's 2, DePaul 1, Seton Hall 1, Creighton and Butler 0.
