Does your school sell the team apparel or is it exclusive?

I'm not talking about regular t-shirts, I mean warmup outfits, team issued jerseys, etc. Basically, does your school sell exactly what the players wear? I ask this because as some of you guys know, we switched from Nike to Under Armour and it has been fantastic...lot's of fresh ideas that Nike never bothered with. I noticed a cool long sleeve subway shirt the team wore at midnight madness and before some games. I've also seen them wear a "Hammer to Rock" blue shirt with the red SJ logo. Nike made a Hammer to Rock (Lavin's saying for our team) shirt, but it was very plain. The UA version is way cooler. I know plenty of fans including myself who are just chomping at the bit to be able to buy some of these. The problem is, they are not available to fans at least right now. It makes no sense to me. The demand is so high, yet the supply is almost nonexistent. Is it like this with your schools as well? It's amazing that you have to beg someone in 2013 to take your money! I know the shirts would sell out in a heartbeat. Buying a SJ jersey is like finding a Chik-fil-A in New York.

I usually look at the auctions as it's the only place to get the same gear the players get including authentic jerseys. Lots of the stuff sells for over $100...it's pretty crazy. Even just a basic jersey can go to like $125. Even for a practice jersey pinnie it's up to $55 with 11 bids and over a week left still.

Two issues:

1) There is someone under the username "Jordanbassy" who literally buys 80% of everything on the auctions. Anyone else notice this? What is the guy a millionaire? He seriously bids on everything. He must have spent over 1 grand so far this year from the auctions. I know how an auction works...the guy with the highest bid wins, but this is not really fair. The one place to get rare items and the same guy buys everything. Really annoys me.

2) The high prices people are willing to pay and the bidding wars only prove my point that the demand for this stuff is SKY HIGH. Yet, we have no options to purchase via UA.com, the bookstore, or anywhere else. Why do they do this? If I ran a business I'd want to sell as many items as possible. Right now it's like SJU is running a collector's market where they issue very few authentic items so they hold high value. Why? If you are a college hoops program, don't you want to sell as many shirts and jerseys as possible to get your name out there? It makes fans walking billboards in public. This program is absolutely nuts not realizing this. I could do a better job with the gear at SJ and I'm not even in a related field.

I bought a road Creighton jersey of McDermott on ebay. Probably a ripoff made in China but the problem is Creighton only sells home white jerseys and the jersey I got is actually better and cheaper than the official Nike one the school sells!

You can pretty much all the stuff you describe in the Georgetown Bookstore. Or online.

I mean there's some stuff that's exclusive like say the Camo uniforms we wore against Oregon or the special shoes the team gets and stuff like that. But jersey's warm ups, etc are for sale.

Thanks for the responses guys. Yeah, I figured schools like G'Town and Nova get all that access. You guys have a TON of the high-quality gear available. This has been a major issue at SJU for years now. Our fans cannot get their hands on it. Isn't it ridiculous? It's like a guy walking into a Ferrari dealership with $200,000 in a briefcase saying "Hello, I'd like to buy a Ferrari" and having the salesman point him in the direction of the local Honda dealership. HELLO! Take my money. SJ fans want the cool stuff. So give it to us. I have emailed UA and SJ athletics and all they've done is give me the old "we're looking into it" hot potato response. There is nothing more ridiculous than seeing new shirts and jerseys our players are wearing, wanting to buy it and not being able to.

For the last couple of years, Butler has sold jerseys of a couple of players through the bookstore, fan shop, etc. Usually one is a home black and the other is an away white.

This year, I've seen three offered. Roosevelt Jones and Marshall in black and Dunham in white.

In terms of authenticity, I'm not 100% sure. Obviously, the players' names are not on the backs of the jerseys. Still, they better be somewhat legit because they cost $80ish a piece.
