Lavin looks like he has righted the ship, Nova looks like a team that could make a deep tourney run (only lacking a true post player). X is still struggling with a lot of new guys. Butler is much better than I thought they'd be (Miller is going to be a good coach).

Great win by the Johnnies. Absolutely tore Fordham to pieces. Guys, this is NOT a bad Fordham team. What you just witnessed was an angry, motivated, determined SJ team on a perfect day. Great win. I really hope this confidence since the 2nd half of GT carries over vs. Cuse. We have to beat them. It's just been way too long and we definitely have the team to do it.

It was like a vacation not having to bite my nails watching SJ playing mid majors. What a treat. I'm very happy but don't want to get too thrilled. We can still be blown out by Cuse.

By the way, Illinois State beat #25 Dayton…and the ISU fans stormed the court. Wow. How embarrassing. It's not that much of an accomplishment to beat a borderline ranked team especially a mid major at that. Reminds me of Fordham fans storming the court when SJ wasn't even ranked a few years back lol…so embarrassing.

Illinois State is awful, we should know. I think I saw this was their first home win over a ranked out of conference opponent. Funny that it was Dayton that they beat though.

If that`s how they played because they were pissed, then they should play pissed more often.

This is what some of you guys need to come to understand about Dayton's basketball program and its fans:

1. One positive: loyal fans with high home attendance figures.

...and here we go:

2. The most entitled group of idiots as a fan base you'll ever encounter, based on program accomplishments that occurred before the Apollo 11 moon landing.

3. They give themselves pre-season #1 conference rankings, win some early games, crap the bed, as they did with this one, and then get into conference play where, and please feel free to check this fact, they end up around .500 in conference play - OFTEN. That's .500 in the A10.

4. UD Arena is one of the premier venues in the nation, according to them. In reality, it's a dump that floods from time to time. It actually was completed the year of the moon landing, so perhaps the engineering details weren't up to par.

5. I like this one the best: they believe they would enhance our television ratings, because they're Dayton and because of the Dayton market. Yes, that's the Dayton television market.

I used to think they would be a good addition. I guess it is no surprise that a Xavier fan would have this reaction to UD, but they are idiots.

Frankly, a serious problem with UD is in their coaching selections. They've been horrid at it. And even if Archie Miller can turn them around, he won't stay there. If Sean found a way to leave Xavier, I can assure you that Archie will use UD as a pit stop, assuming he accomplishes enough to do that.

My god what a relaxing weekend it was watching a 104-58 beating. I was at a bar in Manhattan (didn't have the money for tickets to go to the Garden) watching the game...it was a bar crawl so there were about 10 bars all day and night. I made sure to have them turn the game on in at least 5 of them and made some switch to FS1 even after the game . I try to do my best to support the conference, FS1, and my Johnnies in every way that I can. Some guys at the bar approached me talking about the Johnnies and how good they looked. It's amazing how just seeing a team on TV can make people aware of the brand and what a great game to be on TV for people to watch! I kept downing beers watching us literally not miss a shot for over 10 minutes. I thought I was drunk and imagining things. It hit me when some guys laughed and said "I think the game is in hand now" after we put up 100. Believe me when I say we were that good, it's not that Fordham sucks. Fordham has a very dangerous offense and can pour it on any given night if the defense is not ready. So that makes it even nicer. They usually give us a scare...not this time!

Anyway, in terms of the Dayton talk, I don't want them. As I've said before, they are not a sexy program. Creighton had sex appeal...they have been ranked consistently for what seems like forever and have a POY candidate. That should translate into solid recruiting too now that they have the Big East behind them. Xavier had sex appeal...they have also been ranked consistently and made plenty of deep tourney runs in the Sweet 16. Butler had sex appeal...they made 2 straight national champ games and nearly beat Kansas in one of them. They also have a historic and famous Hinkle Fieldhouse. The 3 teams we added are sexy. Dayton is not. What is Dayton known for? They are not a name brand, they are not consistently ranked, they have not made recent deep runs, and they are just very "blah". Solid mid major but not much more IMO. All I really know about them is that they are one of the better mid majors and they have good attendance. That's it. They have done nothing on the national level.
