What it would take for each team to get (or stay) ranked.

Thanks for the nice replies everyone, I'll update this at least once a week.

Good win for Creighton yesterday. Moved up a tiny bit in Kenpom today. I think they're the most likely team (other than Nova) to be ranked going into BE play. Creighton just needs to win the games they're expected to win. Most of the other teams need to to do that as well as pull off a big upset or two.

As long as we have two teams ranked and others with (mostly) good rpi heading into BE play we will be fine. I expect we will be able to do that and maybe more.

I think the games for DePaul and Seton Hall are so big here next few weeks so that if they finish 2-16 or 3-15- they aren't hovering in that 200 RPI range.

It'll be interesting to see the computers etc. after tonight's action- with the ACC/Big Ten challenge.

This is true. Seton Hall and DePaul won't be ranked anytime soon, but if they finish out of conference with an rpi around 100 or better it would huge for us. We would essentially have no bad teams. Wasn't DePaul around 200+ last year? And I think Seton hall was mid 100s.

Last year DePaul was 11-21 and RPI 208 and Seton Hall was 15-18 RPI 133.

where this year is worse than last year is everyone sees those 2 2x each. You say, well what about USF and Rutgers? I'd rather play USF 1 time at 150 than DePaul a 2nd time at 208. Or Rutgers 1 time at 110 than Seton Hall a 2nd tmie at 133.

That I don't know. I can tell you that DePaul's OOC RPI will peak either now or Friday. The rest of the OOC schedule isn't good at all. Like the key for DePaul will be 3 games- Real time has them projected to lose. Arizona St Fri, Illinois St 22nd, Northwestern 27th(ISU and NW both away). If they lose all 3, they would be 7-6. You add 2-16 to that, and the record is just not that good. For Seton Hall, their big game is Sunday @ Rutgers. He's got them at 144 going 6-12. If they are like 3-15, they won't be near 150 even, let alone 100. He's got their SOS being 85 even after BE play. Last year, with a simlar OOC schedule, they were #64 SOS.

Seton Hall- unranked & #137 (kenpom): one of only a couple teams I think has no chance of being ranked before conference play. No big matches coming up. Need to focus on getting quality wins and improving RPI.

For Seton Hall to be ranked it would take divine intervention! We crapped the bed against crappy competition (honestly we should be 7-1 at this point, not 5-3) and our two best players are hurt and out of the line-up for the foreseeable future.
