And actually- if we did get 6 in, we'd have to have it where the #1 seed is like 12-6 or something like that, and 6th team is 9-9(I don't see us at all getting a sub .500 team in). Well- if that happens- our top team may be like a 5 or 6 seed, and then have a bunch of 8-12 seeds. What does that do? 2nd round games against 1-2 seeds. I'd rather get 4 teams in but have them all seeded stronger than have 6 teams in but seeded poorly.

So you're saying you wouldn't mind if your team was one of the two that didn't make it. A conference should always want to get as many bids as possible. Seeding is irrelevant once the tourny begins and 6 bids>4 bids.

Man, I want to agree with you, but as a fan of a team that has received back to back 8 and then 7 seeds, seeding absolutely matters. Having to play the one seed or two seed in your second game substantially reduces the chances of a team going on a nice run. Getting an 8 seed is like taking a punch to the crotch.

I guess the real question is, what makes the conference look better - more teams getting into the dance or more teams making it to the second weekend? I'd say the latter, especially when we are trying to build up some NCAA tourney credits ($$$$$) for distribution in the future.

Who is saying seeding doesn't matter, but do I need to bring up VCU, BU or Wichita St to point out it's not everything. But what should be the primary focus in November depends on the team. IMO CU, MU & VU should focus on seeding now as conference favorites & general expectations. But for the rest of the league excluding GU, good seeding is a really nice to have but getting a bid is where the focus has to be now. How many BE coaches do you think are telling their teams we can't lose this game or our seeding will suffer later. Most are likely saying we need to secure a bid so we need to make the most of these OOC opportunities. Only a select few teams & fans have the luxury to worry about how hard the path will be ONCE you get in the NCAAT.

GU is a special case right now. JT3 has too many players who have chased and captured great seeds with solid regular seasons but spectacular flame outs in the NCAAT. No way his message is about seeding just getting in and winning from any seed.

PC 6-0 heading to finals of Paradise Jam tourney tomorrow night vs. Maryland. Just beat a solid La Salle team that returned most of their sweet 16 team. If we're going by just what they've done so far PC has to be among the top in power rankings.

Ouch. Although at this point I can't really argue it...

We have a great opportunity tonight to get a quality road win, we'll see what happens.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
