The loser of Florida State/VCU should also get through to the consolation bracket final, so if GTown can beat K-State they will still face two quality opponents.

Otherwise, this is a face-plant, through and through. The Hoyas have such a brutal schedule that they needed some wins early to pad the win total, and the league can't be having bad losses by their power teams so early.

Kansas St looking less and less like a quality opponent. They are 2-2 so far with a loss to Northern Colorado. Florida St is 3-0 so far- but projected 15-13 in ken pom. Hardly quality. And, that's if we beat Kansas St. If we don't, it's Long Beach State.

FSU is a solid team. I think they are going to end up in the upper half of that muddled mess in the ACC. K-State, yeah, they could turn out to be weak, but it's still a power conference team and they usually win enough at home in conference play to be a respectable resume-builder.

Either way, Northeastern is a brutal loss. I saw them play BU in Boston and it was ugly. Can't see how they could've beaten GTown but I didn't see the game.

not a great start to exempt tourney week, bad loss any way you frame it but it's a long week of action and it will likely be full of surprises.

yeah. Here we are not even 2 weeks into the season and the 2 teams almost everyone would have thought would be top 3 at least- have had ugly losses. Not good at all for the league. Creighton may be the favorite now by quite a bit...

So our predicted two top teams both have embarrassing losses a couple weeks into the season. Freaking great start.

Predicted with a grain of salt. All the BE teams have major questions to answer. Who's to say CU & Nova shouldn't have been predicted to be the two best teams or PC & X.

New power ranking:

CU
Nova
XU
Prov
Marq
SJU
G'twn
Butler
DePaul/SHU (tied)

You can't struggle against a team like this Hoyas. Bad.

well the loss is a little bit worse than terrible, I caught the tail end of the game and I thought Norhteastern looked like a very good team. They played with poise, defended, rebounded and were aggressive offensively. Problem is I just looked at NE w-l and they were 1-2 when they touched down in San Juan, losses to Boston U and Stonybrook and a win vs Central Conn.

Blueprint for all BE coaches out there: 3-2 zone and force Gtown to shoot over the top. Man they had NO idea how to beat that zone.
