Not saying poor defense. They actually work hard and seem to be well coached. I can't tell a lot given that Vermont is the opponent. First, I question how well they will do against more physical teams. Second, they're looking so much to double and to force turnovers that they may be susceptible to giving up easy baskets against better passing teams. Just a quick impression. I'd like to see them against a stronger opponent.

Is Monmouth D1 or D2? There is a Monmouth College in Illinois, but I don't think they even have a team.

They are D1. Entering their first season in the MAAC after leaving the NEC.

SHU player of the game PF Patrick Auda- 27 pts, 10 reb, 2 blk, 2 stls, 8-9 FG, 2-2 3FG, 9-9 FT. What a line & in only 22 minutes.
