I split time between the Creighton game and the Temple-Kent St game the other night. I havent' seen SHU play this year but...I would expect a convincing SHU win tonight. This year's Temple team seems a LOT less talented than team's of year's past. Case in point they seem to be relying heavily on Dalton Pepper (WVU transfer) to be one of their key scorers. If DP is one of your key players than your team is not very good. What I saw of Kent St. vs. Temple was pretty good guard play and a lot of hustle plays. SHU will be the more talented team and I think could give Kent State some problems down low (O boards, post play, putbacks, etc.). If SHU takes care of the ball they should win, pulling away at the end. No worries Pirate fans.

The DePaul Southern Miss game is a good barometer of what DePaul may be moving forward. Year 4 of the Purnell Era (Error?) and DePaul has not developed much consistency other than losing. He's been vocal about change, but at what point does that become nothing more than an excuse to mask the losing? This team has 2 seniors who lead the team, 2 juniors who are counted on as contributors and some other nice pieces. If DePaul wants any semblance of respect going forward, they need to begin to win consistently during the non-conference schedule. Tonights a good test, but it's at home and DePaul and Purnell are quickly running out of excuses

Would be great to go 5-0 tonight, but I feel as though SHU or Depaul will blow it.

Also, Providence better not let Brown destroy their NCAA tourney chances again.

Yeah, I have a feeling SHU or DePaul will lose, hopefully not both.

"Best game: Wright State at Georgetown (7 p.m., FOX Sports 1). To me, this is clearly the best game of the night. Wright State has five starters back from a team that came within one game of the NCAA tournament, and that doesn't count Crishawn Hopkins, a Butler transfer who is eligible after the first semester. Can the Raiders keep pace with Georgetown? Josh Smith looked dominant offensively in the opening loss to Oregon, but the Hoyas need to shoot better from the perimeter."

"Another one to watch: Southern Miss at DePaul (9 p.m., FOX Sports 2). This game has some talent. Southern Miss is going to be a contender for the Conference-USA championship, and Daveon Boardingham's season debut provides some optimism in the frontcourt. If DePaul can get consistent double-doubles inside from freshman Tommy Hamilton, the Blue Demons could be competitive in the Big East."

"Potential upset: Kent State at Seton Hall (7 p.m., FOX Sports 2). Kent State has opened its season with two wins, including a road victory at Temple during the tip-off marathon on Monday night. Can the Golden Flashes keep the momentum going against Seton Hall? The Pirates were involved in a foul-fest against Niagara in their season opener. Derek Jackson has 35 through two games, but SHU's Fuquan Edwin is a lockdown defender."

"Mount St. Mary's is one of the many contenders for the Northeast title, and it can make a statement when it visits Villanova (7 p.m., CBS Sports Net)."

To quote Animal House:

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

On second thought, save the good stuff for March.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

I love the pace the Hoyas are playing vs Wright State. 28 points before the 2nd tv timeout. forced 5 turnovers.

That guy! What a waste of talent, hope he's grown up a bit at Wright St.
