wow, that's remarkable. they didn't win at all last year- they are on a 30 game losing streak(they won their last game 2 years ago- didn't make conference tourney). Looking at their schedule, they have a game with a school called Lyon in December. If they lose that game, they have 1 other game where they have a 42% chance of winning(mississippi valley st) and 1 with Alcorn St(40%). Other than that- they don't have another game where they have even a 30% chance of winning this year. Schools like that really need to get out of D1.

Is the new rules the reason for all of these high scoring games? I don`t like it.
I`d rather alittle defense too

I think Marquette scoring like they did was they were playing the worst team in d1 by a long shot.

I think they are trying to get some more offense into the game. I don't think anyone had a problem with like Friday night's game with Providence/BC- it was 82-78 with 70-70 end of regulation. That's pretty much right in the sweet spot. I don't think we're ever going to go back to how the games were reffed last year(fewest fouls ever).

About the X/TU game: almost no one will even remember what happened in this game come tourney time; it'll (hopefully) just be a top 50 win for X on the stat sheet.

Congrats Xavier!

I didn`t mind seeing a score say like 72-67, to me that`s perfect. But this year there are to many games in the 80s and 90s.
That BYU-Stanford game was insane 112-104. Guess college is trying to get the score similar to the nba now.

I didn`t mind not many fouls being called last year, especially in the old physical B.E. Let them bang and play. Hope this new B.E. is as physical. That was classic B.E.

I don't think we're ever going to see the old physical BE basketball ever again. Maybe it'll be a smidge more physical than other leagues- but nothing like what it had become- and that's if at all.

I think we'll see a lot of scores like what we had tonight..
73-69
78-76
90-59
88-70
75-68

avg team scoring about 75 ppg- with that average inflated a bit by Nova and Georgetown's big outputs tonight. That's not too bad at all.

I think we'll see games like last night some 67-63- but that'll be more of a floor than a norm(and even that was 40-40 2nd half). I don't think we'll see many 57-54 type games any more at all. For one, I think the offenses are going a lot more to the basket, knowing they'll get fouls called if there's a lot of contact. Well what's happening- sometimes they get to the basket even if no foul happens so more inside baskets- instead of before where there was a huge reliance on outside shooting.
