St. Louis, Dayton, RIchmond I think should be looked at first.
I think we should root AGAINST VCU... hate to see an A10 team ranked above any Big East team.

It seems that it will come down to either SLU and Dayton or SLU and Richmond. SLU is basically a lock. Dayton is the better institutional fit with the best fan support for basketball, but a couple of the schools really want UR for the geographic balance and other reasons. Georgetown, Villanova and Xavier appear to be the strongest in UR's corner.

Richmond would be the worst decision we could possibly make. It would make us look so small minded to take a team from same city as VCU that hasn't done anything compared to VCU. VCU has as many wins since their final 4 run as Dayton has had in 29 years. SLU has 4 tourney wins in the last 56 years.
I repeat, we should not have a litmus test to get into the league. IT should be the best basketball programs, and there is no question that VCU is the best available by a long shot right now.

I think Fox would put a lot of pressure on the Big East to add VCU. I think for example- lets say a St Johns or Providence finishes 10-8 in conference and 19-14 overall and missed the tourney- I think that's going to cause a lot of the presidents to re-evaluate.
I just think at a certain point coming up pretty soon, it will get impossible to ignore VCU. Especially if the other options the Big East has are just not that good- which is where Dayton and Richmond are right now. I mean imagine what every basketball person would say if they take Richmond instead of VCU. Everyone would laugh their asses off. You can see the articles. Plus, that may drive VCU to the AAC, which really isn't in our best interests either.
