Agree, jury still out if Coach Mac can recruit at a "Big East" level. We have the fanbase, facilities and recent success and now we have a major conference. LGIII and Harrell are great starts. They bring some athleticism that we are lacking. We have plenty of shooters coming back next year in Zierdan, Dingman, Chatman etc...we need guys like Brooks this year who can take it to the whole.

I like what I see though. By mixing in Sellers in the coaching staff & brooks on the squad IMO CU is joining the league the most effective way bold but thoughtful. Not selling out Bluejay tradition but strengthening it by incorporating some city ball. I feel this approach will be more successful over time than what appears to be BU's approach in "The Butler Way" regardless. But we'll see.

Congrats CU on the win and great national showcase by The All-American!

As fans we sometimes focus on what we DON'T do so well and get a little frustrated and occasionally forget to enjoy the ride. Yes, in CU fans eyes this was an average to below average showing due to the same mistakes rearing their head. I/we need to step back and enjoy the offensive efficiency and put up with the mediocre defense.

We are who we are.

GO JAYS!!

Post game quote from coach McD to the BlueJay Cafe:

"Mac on Devin Brooks "As Doug said, with Devin, we just have a totally different look."

After looking at the stats I think I feel better about the game than I did when I left the arena. Another game of sub-40% shooting by the visitors, and we outrebounded them by 17. I'm left with the nagging feeling that we shouldn't be giving up 70 points at home to Joe Blow. That won't fly in conference.

As far as our offensive execution and why I was discounting it, yes, I/(we) can be spoiled. I just feel like it's going to show up come hell or high water, and with games like this that are essentially glorified exhibitions, I was looking at everyone other than Doug - which I would say tonight was on the uneven side. Some quite good, some areas that need polishing.

But Lavinwood and LJay are right, taking our offensive structure and precision for granted is kind of what we as a fan base do. I'm damn guilty of it. If we stared playing with a lesser IQ I think I'd die of the shock, because it's our calling card.

For anyone out there, the Rivals account for CU is run by a guy in New Hampshire that is nowhere near in touch with the Creighton program as others are. He pretty much isolated himself from the fan base and claims to be in the know.

If you want better coverage, may I suggest following a few people: @whitebluereview @wildjays @polyfro

Pretty sure that there isn't a single kid on Creighton's roster that comes from a farm.

"Farm boy" is usually a term used by NYC area or just more urban areas to refer to big strong white kids from the country who can ball...it's usually a good thing lol. It's not a literal translation meaning they must come from a farm, but compared to the NYC area, even midwestern suburbs are rural to us...it's all relative I guess! Some people around here consider you in the "boonies" if you live 45 minutes from the NYC border with .5 acre of land
Let's Go Johnnies!
