Doug gets his points by moving extremely well without the ball (Bilas, Raftery and others have said he's the best in the nation in this area), being fundamentally sound and having a high basketball IQ with solid instincts. I can't tell you how many games I've watched where I don't remember Doug having many noteworthy plays, yet I sneak a peak at the stats and he's got 25 and 10.

Get ready for a lot of passing and a ton of assists. Creighton doesn't run a lot of pick and rolls to get penetrators one on one. Lots of set plays with an extra pass or two.

Brooks is flash. Like TBJ, I doubt if he'll start over Chatman anytime soon. I could see the possibility of him playing at the two while Chatman is at the one as the season progresses, especially if Gibbs is on the bench. Personally, I like Brooks with the second team to help give them a spark. Creighton doesn't have a problem scoring, so his scoring burst is not as big of a deal as it may be in other places. Where Creighton struggles most is the defensive side of the ball and let's just say that isn't Brooks' strong suit. Now, in all fairness, Brooks will probably lead the Jays in steals, so he does have some value on the defensive end. Most importantly, he gives us something we lacked last year. My hope is the kid from Harlem gives us our ticket into NYC recruiting.

Brooks is well known player in the NYC metro but whether he starts or not he can't be that ticket without major minutes in his short two years there, like they do at marquette. Also, CU has yet to score one basket in the new BE so who knows what difficulty they will have scoring night in and night out. Lastly, Brooks is not just a scorer he's a terrific play maker that breaks down defenses & gets others easy shots. I actually think that's been his biggest stregnth to date.

I've seen Creighton play a few times the last couple of years. I'll be checking out the talent that surrounds McDermott. I also look forward to seeing what new UMKC head coach Kareem Richardson (a former X assistant under Mack) can do as a head coach.

I've watched a lot of Creighton games, and Doug is so fundamentally sound.

Will be neat to see him against top competition night in and night out.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

Starting to get excited. We never got national coverage for a game like this in the past.

It's amazing how McDermott never even really looks that good. I mean, he looks good, just not Big East preseason player of the year good. So many of his baskets are easy looks. You'd think it was a fluke if you hadn't seen him do it several times before. He just has such great awareness. Just as important, his teammates have great awareness and always know where he is on the floor and look to get him the ball.

Exactly what he does. For instance he has a "quiet" 30 points so far. He doesn't look dominant, but scoring 30 on 17 shots is pretty darn efficient.

34 all of a sudden. One of the best shooting nights in his career tonight.

Creighton looking very impressive tonight. Doug can definitely extend that Defense, can't wait to see him in BE play. I think he is going to have the most trouble when you guys play Marquette. Buzz does not mess around with players like that.
