11/13- Southern Miss
11/25- vs Wichita St
11/26- vs BYU or Texas
12/1- vs Oregon St
12/6 vs Arizona St
11/27 @ Northwestern

that's 6 pretty good OOC games to get an idea of how they are...

then they maybe more than anyone get a welcome to conference play- @ Georgetown, @ Marquette, and Creighton. Yikes!

Texas is not a good out of conference game, they're a far cry from the days when Rick Barnes knew how to recruit and coach. Southern Miss is only occasionally good don't know much about them. Basically I see Wichita St, ASU and @NW the big tests. Nothing really daunting but enough to prove if they can get middle of the pack.

Last year 1st time in 11 years they didn't make the tourney. It's a tourney so might not see them. Southern Miss is a decent game. You're right about the 3 big ones...

Texas missed the NCAA tournament last season. Now the departures of Myck Kabongo, Ioannis Papapetrou (pro), Julien Lewis and Sheldon McClellan (transfers) with no sexy talent entering means not really a tough game.

In a way Texas is still good. I mean if DePaul beats Texas- that's going to sound really good to the general folks Wouldn't you agree?

That's true I guess. Though I mean if analysts are looking to see if they deserve a bid to any tournament whatsoever I don't think the name Texas is gonna fool them.

Providence. Seniors Cotton and Batts are the real deal, transfers 7 footer Desrosiers and Tyler Harris from the ACC will add tremendous depth to the front court. Pre reviews of Harris are glowing. If Dunn is healthy and Brandon Austin contributes it's hard not to see PC making some noise for the first time in forever.

St. John's. Most pure talent in the league, but will they put it all together? I say yes.

If you would consider players, I'd say Butler's freshman Elijah Brown. He fits Butler's mold...undersized, plays within the team, and not a high-star recruit. Wouldn't be surprised to see him on the short list of best Big East freshman by the end of the season.

Lots of people talking DePaul. I remember that kid Crockett would always kill my Johnnies. He had great games every time I remember us playing DePaul. Him and his annoying ponytail! DePaul can certainly make strides without the big bruiser teams here anymore. They and PC seem very overdue for something big. G'Town has been good, Nova has been good, Marquette has been good, SJ made a run in 2011, SHU made a run in 2012, Rutgers even made a run a few yrs ago. It seems like it's time for PC or DePaul to breakout and perhaps get a bit of good luck.
