Good greif give it up. I mean, Jerry Palm from CBS Sports projected the A10 this year to have as many teams in the tourney as the Big East. So give me a flipping break that the A10 isn't a real basketball league.

Did anyone ask for anything from you? Didn't think so.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

Aren't you the one who took this whole thread off topic the first time? I'll wait.

my point was that the A10 and MWC several years recently have been stronger than some of the BCS leagues. That's a fact. Don't think in the A10 since SLU joined they had a year where their reg season champ missed the tourney like the Pac 12 a few years ago.

I think my point cemented by the projection from CBS. They had the 6 BCS conferences, Big East, A10, and MWC taking all but 2 of the at large bids. With 6 of the conferences getting 4 teams in each. MVC got a 2nd(play in game), and WCC got 2(BYU as a 11 seed). There's 9 conferences that are head and shoulders above the rest.

I have been very complimentary of the Big East the whole way, and thought this thread was set up to track them against the country's top basketball leagues. You?

You can dismiss the A10 and MWC all you want. I'm sorry- but any conference that can get 4 teams in the tourney is a top basketball league. I think for example, the Marquette game vs New Mexico is one of the most important of our OOC schedule this year. It's more important than their game vs Arizona St I know that. I think that may be our only game vs MWC this season quite frankly. I'll be tracking the ESPN9 as I call them. 34/36 at large teams and 31/32 at large teams with byes come from those 9 conferences.

I wish I could dismiss them, but I have to watch A-10 games.

It could be worse, you could be in the Horizon League.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

That's one thing realignment has done- really consolidated the number of conferences that realistically can expect to get at large bids.

Right now, we're at 9-10- maybe 11 at the most.

3 years ago, had 10 conferences send teams to the tourney(11 if you for comparisons sake split the Big East).
2 years ago, had 13 conferences send teams to the tourney(14 if you want to split the Big East)

That's a huge difference. I could see if the Big East takes say VCU and SLU from the A10 it dropping from 9-10 to 8-9 even further consolidating.

Well, winning the A-10 didn't do much...so maybe we try another one? That's a lot of the reason I'm so hard on the A-10.
