That bandanna is the first MU thing with the eagle on it that I thought was pretty nifty.
I like the Marquette Basketball team, if you are wondering.

6'6 wing Marial Shayok commits to Marquette over Providence and Virginia.

4 Star on ESPN, right outside top 100.

Marquette will have some long wings coming in next year with a 6'5, 6'6, 6'6, and 6'7. This'll help make up for losing Jameel McKay who just transferred before ever playing a game.

Looking at 24/7 sports list as a benchmark they have about 75 of the top 100 kids off the board. That being said the kids ranked in the top 10 are almost all undecided. It looks like the rankings will shift a little bit but I'd imagine it will mostly be the biggest schools grabbing the top 10 kids (Kentucky, Duke, UNC, Kansas, Indiana, Ohio State, Louisville, Florida) so if they aren't ranked they will be and if they are they will move up.

Yes, those top 10 kids are the kind of recruits that can make or break a recruiting class. Get one of those and regardless of anything else, a school is almost assuredly a top ten class or close to it. Although the top ten are mostly involved with big name basketball, the following is possible and would make things interesting if it happened:

Jahlil Okafor - Baylor
Myles Turner - SMU
Tyus Jones - Minnesota
Cliff Alexander - DePaul
Stanley Johnson - USC
Justise Winslow - Texas A&M
Rashad Vaughan - Iowa State
JaQuan Lyle - DePaul
Jonah Bolden - Vanderbilt
Reid Travis - Gonzaga

I don't know what the point really is because even with all that said I can't think of more than 2 coaches/fan bases in the BE that aren't ecstatic about their recruits for 2014. I'm just saying even if Duke signs Okafor & Jones how does that diminish X's success or SHU or Prov, etc. So the OP may have to be changed to "4 of the top 25" at worst, who cares. The overwhelming response to BE recruiting this year has been complementary. BE schools pretty much got the recruits they targeted and those targets happen to be pretty d@mn good. To try to find a downside in the recruiting success of the BE for 2014 is hard to comprehend.

How in the world did you take anything negative from what I said? To answer your questions . . .

1. The Big East fan bases should be ecstatic.
2. No one that anyone else signs will diminish the successes that have already been accomplished by Big East schools
3. The responses to Big East recruiting should be complimentary. I certainly didn't think I was saying anything uncomplimentary and have no idea why you're taking it that way.
4. Who's trying to find a down side to Big East recruiting? Certainly not me.

I made 2 points:

1. First is a cautionary note that any rankings at this point are preliminary. Personally I don't like recruiting rankings at any point because the success of recruiting is not meaningful unless it's matched up against the needs of the program. But if anyone insists on doing rankings, it doesn't make much sense to do so until all of the results are in.

2. In response to Nathan's comment about the remaining top recruits, I simply pointed out that it's still possible that they could go somewhere other than the blue bloods, based on who they still have on their lists. DePaul, for example, is still in the running for 2 top kids. While it's likely most will go to the blue bloods, I'm still holding out hope that the talent will be more evenly distributed.

I'm really just doing analysis here because that's what I enjoy. You seem to be reading a rooting interest into everything I post as though I'm advocating for something. I'm not.

I think it's huge as well that not only does the Big East have 5, but between MWC and A10 they have 3. That means 1/3 of the top 25 classes and 8/20 of the top 20 are from the non P5 schools. At least for this year, the big football schools aren't dominating.
