You should root for us, we beat Cincy last year!

No doubt! That gets you a least one season of good will. We already have to hear about how the Big East is watered down this year, but a a quick "who'd you guys lose to least year in the dance last year" is usually sufficient to silence my UC neighbors.

By the way, I'm just old enough to remember the "Kansas City - Omaha Kings" (the same guys out in Sacramento) with Nate Archibald and Phil Ford... I think they also had Otis Birdsong and Tom Burleson too... Scott Wedman I think was on the Kings back then... not sure, my memory is foggy... the late Cotton Fitzsimmons was the coach (kind of a Judd Heathcote/ Rollie Massimino hybrid)...
My dad died when I was a teen and going to the Kings games are my lasting memories with him. You got the players right. Phil Johnson was before Fitzsimmons as coach. Other players were Jimmy Walker, Sam Lacey (really underrated center IMO), Mike D'Antonio and ironman Ron Boone and Omahan from the old ABA. And Tiny was absolutely a thrill to watch in his prime.

Creighton MBB now averaging 17,340 fans per home game. Would be 16th in the NBA.
Should only get higher with conference play coming up.

I'll offer my theory on this by comparing Creighton to Seton Hall. I imagine comparisons with Butler and Xavier would play out in a similar fashion.
As I'm sure everyone is aware, Seton Hall did not have nearly the expectations Creighton did this year, and the team hasn't even lived up to those low expectations(although, yes, they have been decimated by injuries).
Next up, the schedule. SHU's non-conference schedule is garbage. The highest profile team to visit the Rock in non-conference play may well have been LIU-Brooklyn. And the Big East competition is being viewed as a step down from last year as well with no more Louisville, UConn, Syracuse, etc. Creighton, on the other hand, is seeing a massive improvement in the quality of its competition compared to last year. They're also in that honeymoon period of just joining a major conference, which is sure to get the fan base extra excited.
And despite all of that, based on what I've read on here, it seems that Seton Hall's ticket prices seem to be running well over double that of Creighton.
