We are not including the A-10, MVC or Mountain West. If we are being compared to them at the end of the season, then we failed. While there are some good teams in those leagues, they should not be considered our peers at this point. Great conversation though.

my point isn't that they're our equals, but rather that some of the other conferences shouldn't be put as our equals either. I mean, do any of us here really think the SEC or Pac 12 are on our level? Big 12, Big Ten, ACC I can see. AAC- I could go either way on- especially up front.

I'd only include a couple of AAC teams though not them all.

We are including all teams in the ACC, AAC, Big Ten, Big XII, Pac 12, and SEC in this thread. That's it. If someone else wants to do a comparison with other leagues feel free to start another thread.

I would be interested to see long term the progress of our affiliate Denver in basketball they are predicted to win their conference even though its a crap conference(they had to go somewhere when the WAC fell apart). And maybe they can pull out one win in the tourney this year. Ill be pulling for them to win the summit.

I'd love to see DU step it up on the basketball side of things as well, but for now, we probable have to content ourselves with being able to watch lax games out here.

You said what I was trying to say. Once you get past the leagues you mentioned, it's all the same anyway.
Big East Basketball is what it's always been. Great competition nightly.
If the Atlantic 10 didn't suck, why is everyone looking for the exits?
There is a reason why the A-10 left a team in the Central Time Zone...SLU, your move.

it's not all the same after the leagues mentioned. There's no way in hell that the A10 is the same as the Horizon. MWC the same as CUSA. Those 2 leagues have separated themselves quite a bit. There's a reason why ESPN profiled individually those 7 leagues plus the A10 and MWC. Those 9 leagues have all the at large teams with the possible exception of 1-2 teams in the WCC. All the other conferences are 1 bid conferences. Once you get past the top 9, it's all the same.

yeah basketball is probably their weakest sport. But they are very strong in just about every other sport on top of lacrosse they are the top ski program in the country, also one of the best hockey schools, great tennis and soccer. All pretty impressive for a school thats only been D1 for 10 years. Would love to see them expand their affiliation with our conference.

The only thing the A-10 has separated itself from is relevance nationally. What the distinguished gentleman from St. John's said is the proper focus. The MWC really hurt themselves in the Tournament last year. The commissioner of the A-10 took a TV deal that pays roughly what one Big East team makes.
