The Jays have built a monster in Omaha and it will continue. We have been drawing crazy numbers even with the MVC teams and not always very strong OOC games at home.

Now we have a major conf and the other 9 teams of the Big East coming to town and it will only go higher. (if that is possible)

Although if you listen to some Husker BB fans and Jealous Ex Conf members from the MVC, as soon as we lose a couple games and/or Doug graduates, everyone is going to go running out of the CenturyLink.

I don't know if it that's, but don't get too used to have this kind of enthusiasm. I was a frosh when MU moved to the Big East, the intensity/excitement was different then. Plus, attendance across all sports has dropped since the recession. Not having another game in town to compete against really helps though.

Seems Omaha supports Creighton much more than Milwaukee supports Marquette.

I'm very impressed with your attendance figures. I did however notice the 9 out of the last 10 highest attended games were during Doug McDermott's Sophmore & Junior campaigns. When he leaves after this season will this high attendance figure sustain?? What is the average attendance for the last ten years etc??

As long as we can get beer....no worries. ;)

Lol! Last year Pirate fans needed a lot of beer to drown our sorrows with all of our injuries! Honesty though, what a great job by Creighton! I'm really excited to have the Jays on board; they, just like Butler and Xavier, are great additions to the Big East. I'm looking forward to you guys coming to the Rock. I hope to get out to Creighton sometime as well as I try to go to at least one road game a year. However, seeing as your home game against my Pirates is already sold out this probably won't be the year! Lol!

Any idea about what the approximate drive time would be from New Jersey to Nebraska? I'll drive anywhere to see my boys play!

21 hours. It's about 18 from here to central PA where my folks live, so another 3 or so onto that I'd bet.

Definitely a two day trip then! I can do 12-14 hours in a day easy but 21 would be pushing it for sure. Thanks for the info! 8-)

Gas prices have to make flying cheaper, right?

Flying is probably cheaper. Plus the airport is only like 2 miles from downtown, where the hotels are and the arena is. You wouldn't need to rent a car unless you wanted to.

I can do the PA to Omaha trip in a day if I don't have my kids in the car, but going eastward, where you lose an hour on the trip, is too much of a PITA.

Jays are the hottest ticket in town. Ten days before Creighton opens its 2013-14 season, the school has cut off the sale of season tickets. In less than an hour of single-game sales on Tuesday, Creighton sold out seven of its 17 games at the 17,390-seat CenturyLink Center. Fewer than 900 tickets remain for any of the other 10 games.

Rider believes there is a possibility that every game, including Friday's exhibition game against Northern State, could be sold out. An exhibition game sellout?
