generally speaking a glance thru NBE ooc schedule won't impress anyone so the teams better come close to running the table or the inaugural season won't be very successful. imho NBE will have to upgrade the ooc portion of their schedule which was impossible for this season.

Umm Georgetown and Marquette have nuts noncon schedules I know a lot of others were disappointing but some of the better teams have damn hard schedules

It's very difficult for PC to land home and home series with major teams for a number of reasons. Cooley and his staff were rejected by dozens and dozens of teams in the quest to schedule top competition (including a rejection by UConn). Cooley said they called anyone who would pick up the phone.

If major teams are going to play a BE team, they prefer to schedule a team sitting in fertile recruiting area like St. John's, Nova or G'Town. Both Boeheim and Mike Brey have stated this. PC sits near the New England prep schools, but all ACC teams already play BC and other teams can play UConn to access this market. Not to mention, the kids at the prep schools are no necessarily natives of New England.

The best PC could do was a series vs. Kentucky with a game this year at Barclays Center and next year in Lexington.

Point being that it's not as easy as just deciding to upgrade the schedule. You have to find teams willing to play you. This is easier for some teams than it is for others.

I also think pc is in a tough spot right now in that they are still considered a 'bad loss' due to recent lack of success, yet they are now good enough to beat anyone if things are going their way and it's at home. If they make the NCAA a couple of times I'll bet some of these schools are more willing to play them.

"nuts nonconference" for Georgetown and Marquette? I stand by my statement as the highest ranked team I see Marquette playing (for sure) is Ohio State and you get them at home (not dissing the game because I'm sure there is or was a return element but fact is MU has a home game against a ranked opponent-no big deal). New Mexico is neutral site (not at the Pit). Wisconsin @ Madison, of course a tough game but again part of a longstanding series. As far as Georgetown, toughest game I see is at Kansas which again like MU @ Whisky a toughie the Hoyas next highest ranked opponent is Oregon in Korea. I'm confident my analysis is solid, NBE needs to do really well in ooc especially those expected to finish high in conference standings. If both MU and GU win at Wisconsin and Kansas then all will be good, chances are they both lose so now you need to beat Ohio State and New Mexico and G'town needs to beat Oregon. Pretty simple stuff to figure.

I would be satisfied if the Bulldogs come out of OOC with only 3 losses. Vandy will be tough, even at Hinkle, and then the Old Spice Tourney could result in a second matchup with Purdue. We have no answer for Hammonds in the middle. Evansville and Ball State are dangerous games.
