Many will be quick to declare than Villanova is done, that the Big East will regress, etc. Right now, it's important to highlight how incredible the career of Jay Wright has been. Hall of Famer, National Champion, and shining example of how to create and sustain a non-blue blood basketball program today. What he did for Villanova, the Big East and for college basketball is unparalleled. While it is sad knowing he's done, there is solace knowing he's not leaving for another job (NBA or College) and that he elevated the Big East and Villanova at a time of tremendous uncertainty.
Many thanks to Jay Wright. I would love for him to replace Val in two years. Wouldn't mind if they named the Big East Coach of the Year after him either.
