If Providence goes something like 7-1 rest of the way, winning by small margins and getting blown away once to remain outside Kenpom top 25, will Jesse Newell still not rank a BE team with 25-3 record?

so over on the CSN site we were talking about the conferences a bit. Further down the list was the Horizon at 27th. Has any conference been in free fall more than the Horizon(really since Butler left but even more since about 2017)?
I mean from 2013-2016- Horizon in KP was 12,12,14,16. From 2017 on they've been 20,24,18,22,20, and now this year where in KP they're 26th.

The one that really surprised me this year is the MAC. They are at #20 behind such great conferences as Southern, C-USA, CAA, Sun Belt, WAC, MAAC, Ivy, and the Big West.

This stuff is pretty random in a given year, but I wonder how FBS football affects its basketball programs. Will the AAC (even after B12 departures they'll have taken the best of CUSA), MWC, and Sun Belt trend up? Or is being basketball-only an advantage for the likes of A10, MVC, and WCC? I'd be lying if I told you that I know how it'll go!

One thing they're going 12 teams/20 games so the round robin will be gone, which might help them a smidge.

Maybe Loyola Chicago has started a surge of former catholic national champions. We need to add LaSalle and Holy Cross asap! Is it a good thing for the WCC that there are 4 NorCal programs (in addition to 2 PAC12 & 1 MWC schools)? SF/StMarys would be a pretty cool rivalry.

I been getting the sense that it is not worth it to schedule tough opponents anymore in the OOC. I don't think the NET values that enough. I think it values MOV more. The Big East should schedule less tough opponents and beat down on top 100-150 teams early on to boost the NET. Its unexplicable how the Big East as a whole has been sliding down in the Conference NET rankings since the start of the league season. I'm pissed tbh

Just looked, Big East is #4 in the conference RPI right now.

It's going to be really interesting if Providence/Wisconsin get to 2/19 with their current resumes how they're seeded, and the reaction folks will have to their seedings.
