Texas Tech was playing without their stud Shannon tonight at Baylor.

So we're at #23, won't play this week, but get a huge result with Baylor losing at home to TTU.

could really help the league out- as Providence going into today was NET #35. Jump up 5 spots and all those games at home become Q1 games. Would get for instance Marquette another Q1 win- which could be huge end of the year.

9am edit- Providence jumped up to #33. So 3 spots away from being a Q1 home game.

Marquette themselves up to #41 now. So only 11 spots away from being a Q1 home game.

Back in 2014-2018 when UConn fans were angry I used to tell them the importance of a strong Northeast and that it was good for the Northeast to have those Big East school be decent. They hated it and they reacted in similar fashion. They wanted everyone to burn. But that's shortsighted and myopic. They saw no value in it then.

The post-split Big East failing would have been a bad thing for northeastern basketball because the Big East was/is the regions last shot at a high-major conference anchored in the area. However, if post-2014 UConn had excelled in the American there's a decent chance they never come back, which would have been bad for northeastern basketball, and I don't think that it's a coincidence that Seton Hall and Providence both going through relative "up" periods has coincided with UConn, Pitt, and Syracuse going through downswings.

Echoing what others have said, if you want to root for northeastern basketball then root for the A-10 in addition to the Big East. A strong, well-attended A-10 tournament in Brooklyn coinciding with the Big East tournament in Manhattan would make the city a very fun festival of basketball for one long weekend every year. Cuse going into the Hornets arena in Charlotte and winning the ACC tournament while people watch on their couches at home doesn't do a ton for the area.

Pretty much every ACC bubble team (VaTech, Wake, Louisville, Clemson) lost tonight. It really is a league of Duke and ...

Lots of late games on tonight, I guess PAC12 & WCC are finally back on track for the most part.

Strange to see the Pauley completely empty! UCLA about to go down to the Ducks...

looks like across college hoops tonight something like 54/62 games got played. Couple Sun Belt games cancelled, couple of Big Sky ones, and then singles in Patriot, Pac 12, Big West, and Summit.

Oregon did beat UCLA. And at the half Oregon St is beating USC. lol.

Yeah I'm about to switch over to that game. So I guess this no fans in attendance is mandated by the conference. California is a funny place that appears ultra liberal, but probably has the most anti-vaxxers in the country... lol

Kentucky murdering Tennessee today- which given the news of Joe B Hall passing away probably is no surprise. Guessing a really emotional atmosphere in there today.

Coach Cal opened the game in the old 1-3-1 that Hall played. And had a rolled up program from what I'm reading- just like Hall. Kudos to him.
