Great fight but so frustrating because this is probably a win with a full roster. Obviously smart of Jay to attack our only big and foul him out early. A whistle happy game as the last thing the Pirates could afford to get in. Our 2 best teams got their seasons destroyed by this stupid virus.

Yeah I saw the AD tweeting about free tickets, pathetic...

I would love to see DePaul be decent. Honestly feel sort of bad for their players.

Yeah Hall I get your frustration. I agree. You had 3 guys foul out with a team of 8. Gillespie and Moore both foul out. Wish we had Daniels. Wish you had Obiagu and Samuels. Covid sucks. I like the SHU program that KW has built. In all respect to PC, CU, X, Butler but the SHU rivalry in the nBE has been the one I look forward to most. It’s good hoops. Let’s hope we can get a rematch with full squads in Philly and have another go at it. #BEBretheran.

I'm honestly surprised SHU kept it as close as they did. I thought it was game over when Yetna fouled out. They battled hard to give themselves a chance though and props to Nova for hitting the free throws needed to hold on (though a couple uncharacteristic mistakes forced them to hit a few more than should have been necessary).

I couldn't believe it either. They would foul while he is dribbling and give him two shots- game over. Awful decision for a " defensive guru". Thank goodness it worked out.

don't know what the normal DePaul attendance is lately, but the expectation of an ugly storm on New Year's day (after people were out late) and the Mayor is putting into place a vaccine passport for things (not sure if it was 1/1 or 1/3, but I assume events like this?) so maybe nobody wanted to bother with the hassles

The impacts were about as expected in the NET:
Nova 11 to 11
SH 27 to 28

PC 28 to 27
DePaul 70 to 88

Creighton 56 to 51
Marquette 76 to 83

I was explaining the rationale of fouling immediately to my daughter and then they didn’t do it. Good for us I guess:

I still absolutely can't get behind NET, as long as its formula is kept secret. I've always felt this way since NET came out.

RPI, for all its flaws and the possibility of sometimes gaming it, actually has everything out in the open.

If ESPN wants to reveal the ingredients of the special sauce, then i'll maybe re-think things.
