WCC Portland takes a bad loss to Montana St 69-66. seems strange to have that- but with the way the WCC has gone- losses like this won't help at all.

Lose to Lipscomb by 19 then beat Kansas lol. Unfortunately, with 3 bad losses already, they'll still need to dominate the A10 for any hope of an at large

Such an unathletic team! I understand why Swider went there but it looks like he'll miss out on the tourney.

The committee will find a reason to put them in.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

I think your right Hall. Just to provide some insight, Dayton has a young team, with little time for the coaching staff to get to know who they had. Zero Dayton players had played in front of a live Arena crowd, many never played a college BB game. I think we are one of the youngest 10 teams in D1. But this was also one of our best recruiting classes, with the addition of a couple decent transfers. After losing 3 buy games, the fan base was stunned. But it was going thru that painful learning curve that we found the right rotation that made this week's wins over Miami and Kansas possible. Now we play for the tournament championship this weekend.

It will be an interesting season for us. We frankly thought the season was a lost cause- now we have some hope and optimism.

So Dayton just beat Kansas with 12 freshmen? That is quite the feat.

eligibility wise we have 12 frosh but only 4 are true freshman, 5 of them played significant minutes last year but as a previous poster mentioned never in front of crowd but everyone has that going on. The Flyers early issues was really more of who was going to play and how we were going to play. Kansas is overrated in my estimation and played poorly but it doesn't make the win any less memorable for the Flyer Faithful. The kids played hard and never back down, so great attributes and hopefully something to build on!

Well Miami doesn't look any good this year, but the Kansas win is certainly impressive. It's a win that can tip them over the edge if they get back to the bubble after that start, but those 3 losses and the relative weakness of the A10 this year doesn't leave much more room for error.

Dayton has a couple more pre-season opportunities to get some OK wins- SMU and Ole Miss. But your point is true about A-10 play. We have SBU, VCU and SLU, and can't afford any bad losses.

To my friend BEWannabee- re my point about the players not playing in front of a UD live crowd- that applies to the entire team- 100% of them never played in front of 13K rabid Dayton fans. That is unusual compared to D1 teams at large who have some upper classmen. UD Arena is sold out for the season. I don't think that helped relax these newbies trying to find their identity.
