Instead of breaking out to 23-25+ wins with big OOC wins, we always procrastinate and put our backs up against the wall. I know it's super early still, but you can see the way this season likely goes. 20-21 wins total including BET (what have we advanced 1 or 2 times in the last 20 yrs?) and sweating with a bad SOS and a mediocre conf record around .500. 20-21 wins is our cement ceiling...we never do better than that in our best years and it's so frustrating. We wasted another potentially historic year of putrid scheduling and falling flat in the big games. If we scheduled 3-4 ranked or nearly ranked (say 15-25) F5 teams, we would've won 1-2 OOC. But instead we scheduled 2 and just lost 1 of them with Kansas our last shot. I keep thinking one of these years we have to get lucky and everything goes right by accident as with other teams...but it never happens.

Lose by 2 on the road at Indiana and the season is over?

A: They haven't lost to Kansas yet- that's a potential game changer
B: Hopefully the league as a whole continues to step up and create more chances for impressive wins in conference play. UConn and Nova don't appear to be going anywhere. MU, SHU, and X all play schedules that give them a chance to join those two in the polls to start league play. Can 1 or 2 manage? The rest of the league gets up to 2 more top-25 games for each one that does.

The key really isn't top 25, it's more top 30. Can the league have more than 2 top 30 teams which would allow home games vs those teams to be Q1 chances.
