No opportunity for new Big East teams to jump into the AP rankings this week, which is typical for week 1. Everyone needs to take care of business. Nova plays UCLA in a few days, which would be a nice boost if they win.

15-0, nice start for the league. Would be great if Nova can upset UCLA and get ranked #2 on Monday.

This week's AP still has only Nova and UConn ranked, but X, Hall, and SJ all receiving votes.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

Teams with a chance to remain/get ranked next Monday:
#5 Villanova- Vs Howard, Vs #17 Tennessee*, Vs ???*- would definitely remain ranked with 2 Ws
#23 UConn- Vs LIU, Vs Binghamton- would likely remain ranked with 2 Ws

#36 Xavier- Vs #19 Ohio St, Vs Norfolk St- would likely get ranked with 2 Ws
#38 Seton Hall- @ #4 Michigan- would definitely get ranked with 1 W
#41 St. John’s- @ Indiana, Vs Fairleigh Dickinson- would possibly get ranked with 2 Ws
Marquette- Vs #10 Illinois (W), Vs Ole Miss*, Vs ???*, Vs ???*- would definitely get ranked with 4 Ws
Creighton- @ Nebraska, Vs Brown*, Vs ???*- would possibly get ranked with 3 Ws

Providence- no chance
Butler- no chance
DePaul- no chance
Georgetown- no chance

Our best chance for a third team joining the rankings would be if Seton Hall upsets Michigan tonight. Xavier would have a pretty good chance at getting ranked if they win their two games. Seems pretty unlikely that anyone else would join next week.

Aaaannnndddd Hall will now be ranked. Wow. Only question is how high will they be ranked? Currently ranked #38 and just beat #4 on the road. Have to think they'll be top 20 at worst. Maybe top 10.

It'll be interesting to see if UConn can remain. Got 2 unranked teams that will absolutely be ranked now- BYU and Seton Hall. I could see UConn falling out fairly easily if another team or two force their way into the ratings.
