If UCONN was still in the AAACKKK the BIG12 would have added them just my thought.

Interesting hypothesis. If they had, the geography of the Big 12 would be border to border.

0% chance. Big 12 took football brands and programs, first and foremost. UConn has negative football value, perhaps even radioactive. UConn would have been stuck in the AAC, and then they would still be coming back to the Big East.

For both the BE and UConn, it was wise when they made the arrangement when they did. The BE appeared to poach a power basketball program during a period of relative realignment stability. Doing so now, when the AAC is as unstable as the Big East was in 2012, would not have had the same fanfare or impact.

Southern Miss and Old Dominion have officially joined the Sun Belt. James Madison and Marshall are expected to make announcements later this week as well.

Sounds like CUSA might backfill with some FCS schools who will bring their football programs up to FBS.

Uconn to CUSA?

Also, apparently the MAC is now considering Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. This is nuts.

Isnt CUSA on Stadium? MW as well?

What's the deal with that channel?

It's a NATIONAL, all sports free digital network but I never watch because the programming and ads are god awful.

Do they pay CUSA? Do they have any intent/ability to grow and expand and become a player? Just seems odd that they have this national free tv platform but suck so bad.

They (CUSA) had to try. Our AD basically said "no thanks" in a very diplomatic/not trying to burn any future bridges-kinda way. Funny that CUSA reached out to us and not UMass. Their fans are actually pissed.

Things just keep moving. If CUSA can hold it together they’ve got a massive exit fee payday coming.

Sources confirm the MAC has calls tomorrow to discuss Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.

It’ll be the first time many members discuss the topic. Not clear which way it’ll go, but it should be resolved fairly quickly.
