I saw several posts earlier discussing whether Gonzaga fans want to join the Big East. I was curious as well about the numbers so I posted a poll on the Gonzaga message board asking who would want to join the Big East as a full member if offered. Here are the numbers:

Yes: 52 - 62%

No: 32 - 38%

Small sample size but this is what I have so far.

Small sample size for the poll on the Gonzaga site, but i think only 61% for "Yes" is pretty low for a fanbase.

Omaha "IS" the Gateway to the West...and has been for over a Century + (123 years!).
Kansas City also has a greater claim than STL to the moniker, albeit not as valid as Omaha's.

I’ll leave it to St. Louis and Omaha to fight out the title of “the Gateway to the West.”

But St. Louis says IT was where Lewis and Clark stopped in 1804. It incorporated as a city in 1823, putting it ahead of Omaha.

Lewis and Clark could’ve stopped in both areas, for all I know.

In many ways Omaha is where the Midwest ends and "the West" begins.

I just read that topic over there. I like how some of them think women's basketball would be a lateral move, and soccer, etc are superior in the wcc.
