It is. The ‘Crayton’ thing in his tag line is as much a giveaway as everything else.

The rapid fire interviews at yesterday's Media Day featured plenty of behind the door insight on how the 11 rosters stack up. Case in point was the Coach McDermott segment. Despite the mass exodus, he seemed genuinely excited about what he has to work with. This Creighton squad is very intriguing.

GTMO, How far am I off on this starting 5?
Nembhard
O'Connell
Kaluma
Feazell
Kalk
Then Mitchell and ??.

It seems to me that your bench will tell the tale. I can tell you that Mason Miller is the real deal. My Sister in law lives in Germantown (Memphis) and he is somewhat of a local legend shooter from distance, so it's only a matter of time until he will "let it fly"?
Question.....what is the chatter on Rati and Christofilis.

I'll step in for our hoops laureate Git to say that Feazell and Kalk won't both start, since neither is a proven 3-point shooter. More likely the D2 transfer Ryan Hawkins starting at the 4.

I know you didn't ask me, but...I am not sure Feazell will start. I think he was brought in to spell Kalk but has played himself into maybe more minutes (Mac specifically talked about how well he's played in Omaha). The DII transfer, Ryan Hawkins, appears to be well-suited for our style. While he was DII (and we have some shaky history with DII transfers), he was the best player on the best team in DII. Started every game for 3 years and, in those 3 years, shot 251/494 from 3 (and 80% from the line). Not sure if he'll start but would not be surprised if he does (and he's 6'7"). Rati can play and will contribute this year. He hasn't played an actual game in 21 months so there's some rust to knock off but my guys say he'll play. I saw one prediction from a bball writer that he'd be our leading scorer. Not sure about that but he can play. Miller, as you suggest, is perfect for our system and will play assuming he figures out the defensive end. Don't think Trey Alexander came to sit on the bench but haven't heard much about him yet. Nothing about Christofilis. All of the 6 guys you listed should be rotation guys, and I'd add Hawkins, Rati, Miller and Alexander for a 10 man, regular rotation. Just one fan's opinion.

If nothing else, we'll be taller! 7 guys 6'7" or taller instead of 2. One is a walk on that probably never sees the floor but still.

^^^ This looks about right Kalkbrenner raved about Kaluma at media day more than any other player but who knows what Mac will do.

My guess at CU Starters on opening day:

Kalkbrenner
Hawkins
Kaluma (but prolly O'connell)
Rati (Possibly Alexander)
Nembhard (unless Reef get's healthy soon)

First off bench:
Feazell (Kalk first to get winded)
Reef (or Nembhard [interchangeable])
O'connell (or Kaluma [interchangeable])
Alexander (or Rati [interchangeable])

Then Miller, Christofilis, etc.

P.S. Gitmo is taking the train back from Penn Station after showing up for Big East Media Day a day late and with no creds.

Most of the people who have seen practice are saying Alexander will likely start:

Nembhard (Mitchell is been nursing ankle injury), Alexander, O'Connell, Hawkins and Kalkbrenner are likely starters opening day.

I'll go with Jet's take on CU starters.

(That's one helluva train ride back to deep Latin America...and I have credentials by the way.) lol

Coach Mac said that Mason Miller will redshirt this year on a podcast interview this week.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.
