That's a perfect game for the 'cats. A nice easy win that they'll still get a ton of credit for because it's on a neutral floor against a "name school" from a "power conference."

Appears the earlier reported (Adam Zangoria) Orlando Invitational with G'town was false. Hoyas instead in The Wooden Classic with USC, San Diego St. and St. Joe's according to Jon Rothstein.

Not false. TCU dropped out of the Wooden Classic so Georgetown ditched Orlando to take their vacant spot.

I wish the east coast BE teams would band together and agree to stop giving other teams free MSG exposure. It's stupid. Syracuse can try to play Pitt there, it'd be a non-event. Let them rot in that southern conference.

Meh. I love playing at Storrs South annually in OOC play. Huskies love to mark their territory. I have no question that UCONN is angling to be in game 2 of the Jimmy V Classic. Don't really care about the opponent cuz I know we'll outnumber them.

Personally I’d be ok not having any OOC games at MSG. I’d rather see us use the spots for good H/Hs. We are already going to be playing there multiple times a year with the St Johns game and big east tournament.

Eh, I disagree. MSG schedules a bunch of non-conference college basketball events every year and they're going to continue to do so whether Big East teams participate or not. So if we want to continue to cement it as our turf, we need to make sure we're included and we need to win.

Agreed. I should've said the likes of Syracuse and other former BE teams. Totally okay with Seton Hall playing Kentucky there.

I still don't think we should shy away from playing those teams there. I agree I wouldn't go inviting them in, but the ACC added Syraucse and Big Ten added Rutgers (laughably) largely for proximity to NYC and MSG. Those leagues are making sure those teams get games there and they'll find them quality opponents. In my opinion, the best thing we can do is step up and make them leave with their tails between their legs. Of course, the B1G has been protecting itself by only giving RU conference games at The Garden so far.

ESPN has Villanova #2 in the preseason poll, but no other Big East teams among the Top 25. UCONN was #29.
